‘ISIS threat is at an all-time high’
I received the alarming update below from RUN Ministries president Eric Watt Monday morning requesting prayer for his teams of volunteers and the refugees under their care and protection in northern Iraq:
The past several days in and around our “Community of Hope” refugee camps have been about dealing with major security concerns. The ISIS threat is at an all-time high in northern Iraq. As a result, RUN volunteers have spent the past week focusing on their personal safety and securing the safety of the refugees. Please join me in praying for God’s supernatural direction, wisdom, and protection at this crucial and dangerous time.
The ISIS threat to RUN refugees and hundreds of thousands of other Christians and religious minorities in the region is far from over. Sunday, Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby told reporters that the fight against the terror group “is going to be a long struggle.”
Despite the U.S. military launching more deadly airstrikes against ISIS terrorists this week, the Pentagon says the terror group is still recruiting new members. Adm. Kirby called that “an indication of the strength of their ideology right now.”
So where does that leave RUN Ministries’ teams of brave, dedicated volunteers? It appears they’re fighting a battle they can’t win against an opponent who has them hopelessly outmatched.
More than 26,000 Iraqi men, women, and children are counting on RUN Ministries for food, water, medicine, clothes, blankets, tents, and more. These ISIS victims have lost everything, even loved ones, to this ongoing campaign of terror and genocide.
It’s impossible for RUN Ministries to continue their difficult, dangerous, and lifesaving work without tax-deductible donations from friends like you. Even if you’ve given to their work previously, please consider helping Eric and his team care for and protect tens of thousands of ISIS victims in RUN’s “Community of Hope” refugee camps and safe homes.
As the Pentagon admits, the battle against ISIS is going to be “a long struggle.” The barbaric terror group has already murdered, tortured, kidnapped, and raped thousands, while forcing more than a million Iraqis from their homes. The extreme humanitarian crisis in Iraq (and now Syria) will get worse before it gets better. So RUN Ministries desperately needs your continued prayers and financial support.
Previously, I told you about RUN Ministries’ efforts to build a fifth “Community of Hope” refugee camp. Eric and his team need $100,000 to get it up and running this week, but they are still well short of that goal. Please help them care for and protect even more Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities in northern Iraq by clicking here now.
Thank you for your continued prayers and generous support. God bless you!
