Iraq Crisis ‘Worst Persecution Since Holocaust’
CBN News — An international rights group is accusing the terrorist group known as ISIS, or the Islamic State, of war crimes.
Amnesty International says it has evidence that ISIS has committed ethnic cleansing against religious minorities in northern Iraq.
“The massacres and abductions being carried out by the Islamic State provide harrowing new evidence that a wave of ethnic cleansing against minorities is sweeping across northern Iraq,” Amnesty investigator Donatella Rovera.
The 26-page report says the group has expelled around 830,000 Christians, Shiite Muslims, Yazidis, and Mandeans from their homes.
It also accuses the terrorists of abducting “hundreds if not thousands” of Yazidi women and children and rounding up men and boys and killing them.
Canon Andrew White, known as the Vicar of Baghdad, describes the situation in Iraq as “the worst reality of religious persecution since the Holocaust.”
