GOP Establishment Smears Party to Hit Conservatives

You know it’s bad when the so-called “leaders” of a party harbor such pure contempt for their base that they are willing to drag the good name of their own party through the mud in an attempt to undermine that base.

From Politico:

A detailed report commissioned by two major Republican groups — including one backed by Karl Rove — paints a dismal picture for Republicans, concluding female voters view the party as “intolerant,” “lacking in compassion” and “stuck in the past.”

Women are “barely receptive” to Republicans’ policies, and the party does “especially poorly” with women in the Northeast and Midwest, according to an internal Crossroads GPS and American Action Network report obtained by POLITICO. It was presented to a small number of senior aides this month on Capitol Hill, according to multiple sources.

I couldn’t find any detailed information about the pool of respondents beyond what Politico provided (“eight focus groups across the country and a poll of 800 registered female voters this summer”), but I have to wonder if they went to liberal enclaves to ask their questions or even made an effort to obtain an average cross-section of Americans.  Of course, 800 registered female voters out of over 300 million Americans is a rather dubious basis upon which to establish any sort of conclusions.

Notice first that one of the groups behind this hit job on conservatives was RINO Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS. The other was the American Action Network, a pro-amnesty RINO group.

Do you find it interesting that a group of “Republicans” would commission a survey ostensibly about how they can improve their public perception…then release its “bad results” to the “mainstream” media to trumpet even more about how the GOP has a bad public perception and is “out of touch?”

Do you find that just a little bit interesting?  I do.

Second, I tried unsuccessfully to find an actual copy of the survey/report, but notice what information we do have about the questions and answers.

  • “looks out for the interests of women.”
  • “fairness” for women
  • “wants to make health care more affordable,”
  • which party is willing to compromise

Who runs around fretting over the “interests” of the various Balkanized demographic groups of our once-“e pluribus Unum” nation? Liberals.

Who wrings their hands over “making health care more affordable” as opposed to promoting freedom and the free market (which every conservative knows will “make health care more affordable”)?  Liberals.

Who falls all over themselves whining about compromise (a euphemism for “shut up and do what liberals want”)? Liberals.

What is “fairness for women” in pop (liberal) culture?  Abortion on demand (and preferably taxpayer-funded), quotas in the workplace, free contraception, and the like. In other words: liberal.

So it seems pretty clear that the underlying assumptions and slant to this project was not coming from a conservative basis or even an “objective” one, but rather came from the Left. When you approach something from a particular angle, don’t be surprised if you get answers which “confirm” your origin.

As if there was any doubt, this clinches it:

Second, the groups suggest Republicans “deal honestly with any disagreement on abortion, then move to other issues.”

Yeah, liberals are very eager to get conservatives to surrender on abortion (and every other matter of vital importance), then move on to other issues (on which we are expected to surrender, also). The RINO establishment has been counseling surrender on social issues (the most important issues on the political front, the issues that drive all the other issues) since their asinine “autopsy report” and even before.

“Republican” leaders: would you like to know how to inspire the American people and win?  LEAD!  Just LEAD!  Don’t act like a dopey teenager smitten with peer-pressure and run around trying to get the “cool kids” to like you!  That’s following!  LEAD!  Show some spine!  Stop being so desperate to get your enemies (if they really are your enemies) on the Left to like you!  Act like you want to win!  Act like you actually believe in the values and principles you put on paper! Explain and educate on why Republican values are the ones that work, are the ones that can return our nation to greatness again, instead of behaving like you believe your enemy is right. Behave like someone who’s really loyal to the conservative values that produced the most free and prosperous nation in history! Face it: being a spineless surrender monkey is never going to inspire someone to join your team!

This is nothing more than the “surrender caucus” blowing the horn of retreat.  Rather than fight for the values and principles that produced the greatest nation in history (the same values the GOP is on record as supporting), these RINOs (who loathed these values to begin with and are embarrassed by the Republican base which cherishes them) are simply trying to convince more people to cave to the Left. They seek to marginalize those who still believe in Republican values, while convincing people to abandon those values and veer Left.

Tell me: is a “Republican” who is trying to convince people to join the enemy really a Republican?  Because the logic is very simple: If the Democrat Party is the party of liberal values (and it is), and someone calling themselves a “Republican” is trying to convince people to adopt the same values as the enemy (or at least surrender to those values), then that makes such a “Republican” a traitorous liberal, now doesn’t it?  It isn’t hard to figure out.

Sadly, it is beyond clear that the liberal RINO establishment of the GOP loathes conservatives so much, it would rather embarrass its own party and drag its reputation through the mud, rather than get their mind right and get behind the documented values and principles of the party to which they claim allegiance.

It is beyond clear that the RINO establishment infesting our party is nothing but a group of complete traitors to the Republican Party–and since they are aligned with the liberals who are traitors to the founding principles of America, that makes them traitors to our country, as well.

They’ve declared war on the Republican base and the conservative values that form the foundation of our party.  Conservatives should respond accordingly with no hesitation, giving them no quarter. It’s time we took our party back from these traitorous usurpers. After all, it isn’t just our party that’s riding on it, but the fate of America.
