Anti-children’s rights forces using gay marriage, cakes, and corporate America, literally, to stuff human trafficking down our throat
Remember when Audre Lorde said the following?
“For the master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house. They may allow us to temporarily beat him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring about genuine change. Racism and homophobia are real conditions of all our lives in this place and time. I urge each one of us here to reach down into that deep place of knowledge inside herself and touch that terror and loathing of any difference that lives here. See whose face it wears. Then the personal as the political can begin to illuminate all our choices.”
Her message here is that it’s not a good idea to reverse your own suffering by using the same tools that your oppressor once used against you.
Which is an indirect way of explaining that I’m not wild about Betty Crocker’s new initiative to promote “gay families,” starting, of course, with cakes.
Before I explain why it’s a blatant violation of Audre Lorde’s wisdom for gay activists to promote same-sex parenting through Betty Crocker’s corporate practices, let me review a few things here:
•In 100% of cases of same-sex parenting, a child is under the control of one or two adults who are not the child’s parents. Same-sex parenting is a nice-sounding name for human trafficking, because it requires that a couple acquire and control someone else’s child. One hundred percent of the time.
•Nobody needed same-sex parenting to be yoked to same-sex marriage. I supported same-sex marriage when it had nothing to do with children being trafficked and turned into property. Gay activists made the choice to meld the two issues and conflate the recognition of consensual adult relationships with coercion and emotional manipulation of children designed to force them into obedience toward people who are not their parents.
•Same-sex parenting advocates are following in the footsteps of slavers, human smugglers, black market baby sellers, eugenicists, and practitioners of cultural genocide. People who traffic, own, and sell human beings like property usually have some reason to feel slighted about something: i.e., “I had to come to Virginia because the people in England were mean to me, so I should be able to build my estates with slaves,” “I was a poor man with no education and the only way I could earn money was to smuggle drugs, babies, and prostitutes,” or “the Treaty of Versailles was very unfair so we shouldn’t be criticized for our white supremacy, anti-Semitism, or Lebensborn.” Do not buy into the propaganda put out by same-sex parenting advocates.
Okay, so what is this about? Betty Crocker pushing rainbow families? Have gay people forgotten entirely the dark years of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, when the promoters of suburban bourgeois domesticity cast them as the enemy and made them feel worthless and abnormal? Why on earth are gay people teaming up with the corporate abusers who once heaped calumny on them?
