“A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”
– The Great King Solomon, Pr 18: 24
Teachers and educators refer to their various academic pursuits as ‘disciplines.’ It is interesting to note that the word ‘disciple’ has its derivation from the same word. Secular educators are all someone’s disciple whether they recognize this or not.
While everyone is following one philosophy or another, some like to think of themselves as well rounded eclectics who can pull the best out of several disciplines and fit in with any secularists on all levels. Over generalization, becomes their mentor. They are people of the world, taught by the world and answerable to no one in particular. Most people in the rank and file today, fit well into the latter category.
Unknown to the modern secularist is the fact that they do not have any idea they are deceived, if they knew that they might repent. If they knew the source of their deception they would shudder, but the truth is that their deception is in equal and direct proportion to which they remove themselves from the knowledge of God.
A general perusal of the Bible shows us two amazing parallels that only one group of people can actually see.
The first is that Christians know who is leading them and where they are going. They are told what God is doing because he is a friend, a Father and he loves his own creation.
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” (Jn 15: 15)
Secondly, the secularists do not acknowledge God, thus cannot see that they are guided by God’s enemy – who is not, nor will he ever be their friend.
They are insulted with the very idea that their refined minds could be mis-guided by some elementary spirit of deception. Not knowing, he is the “god of this world” (2Cor 4: 4) and the arch deceiver, not just of individuals, but of entire nations, (Rev 20: 3) they continue in their darkness, often professing themselves to be ‘great luminaries’ rather than “blind guides of the blind.” (Mt 23: 16)
Today, if you believe that evolution, global warming, abortion, homosexuality, Muslim Jihad and simple lying and promiscuity are wrong, you are seen as some sort of lower echelon boob of the past, clinging to the now certainly disproved religious and superstitious teachings of the Bible.
Even though each and every deception the secularists hold to, can be separately addressed, they are caught by the momentum of “over generalization,” common wisdom and pop-culture’s politically correct explanations of just about everything. But even deception has its own speed ratio to be dealt with.
The Bible clearly warns that as we approach the last days the speed of deception increases many times over. Just as knowledge doubles over on itself every few years now, according to the Bible “evil” and “evil men” will increase exponentially as the final day approaches.
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2Tim 3: 13)
It would all be just so much semantic nonsense if it were not for the fact that the deceived are being cheated. This world’s master is a cruel and loveless hoaxter who knowing his destruction is sure, has decided to take as many with him as he can.
In Martin Luther’s powerful hymn “A Mighty Fortress is our God” are three lines that explain the concept of the destroyer’s methods in a unique fashion.
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.
Not only are the deceived being cheated, but they are being destroyed by the weapon of “hate” – their deceiver hates them. They think they are operating, living and functioning completely on their own as independent free souls, answerable to no one but themselves. And yet the one who brings them to their final end is called the “destroyer.”
In Revelation 9: 11 Satan is referred to as Apollyon, which in Greek clearly means – “The Destroyer.”
While the secularist thinks the Christians are plagued with stupidity, the Bible says the secularist is being primed for destruction. Being dumbed down for destruction hardly seems like much of a choice, but pop–culture cronies make that choice every day.
Human vanity and pride are mountains which few secularists can scale without great difficulty. Humbling themselves to God is considered giving up instead of giving in to the grace that brings new life to the run down, repeating the same mistakes of the past and self-appointed sub-contractors for the all new cultural Tower of Babel.
After publishing an article in which I said that “Sodomy and same sex “marriages” are not social issues they are excursions into reprobation,” an avowed sodomite emailed me that perhaps I was right, but it didn’t matter because right now the homo-agenda is winning and that it felt good to win.
Aside from “feelings’ being the means by which their sin is fostered in the first place, all I could think of is how any temporary victory could be seen as worth it all, even if it meant that it cost your very soul.
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mt 16: 26)
All of this would be no more than wasted admonition for the ardently foolish except that according to prophecy it is going to get worse. In fact, the Christians will be worn down by it all and it will become much harder to make a stand.
By the time anti-Christ finally begins his brief rule over the earth the power of God’s people will be nearly run down.
“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” (Dan 7: 25)
The most important words in this passage are “be given into his hand” which indicate that he couldn’t go this far if God had not allowed it.
It must be noted that anyone with penny’s worth of understanding should be able to decide – will it be – worn down with the saints or wiped out with the Godless.
“All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.” (Pr 16: 2-5)
