This Week’s Sign the Apocalypse is Upon Us
Every week, I remind you, dear readers, that we are evolving quickly toward further glorious depths of statist utopia. I present examples to encourage you that (despite how it may appear) man is good, government is god, and chaos is peace.
I remind you of the treasured truth(ish) whereby we tear down our world: we don’t need God. Or His archaic commands about morality. Man is all there is and man knows best. Well, the best men know best…that’s why we trust judges to rule over us.
Judges are chief among our overlords, the masters of our fate, the creators of laws and rumors of laws in our fair land. Even if their rulings are unfair. They know best.
Which why I bring you this great news: a judge has declared child-molestation is no longer a big deal.
A man bearing the title “judge” in California’s Orange County decided that a man convicted of sodomizing a 3-year old girl should not have to serve the minimum sentence for his crime, that 25 years in prison would be “cruel and unusual punishment.”
The circumstances of the case are thus (from Dave Jolly at Godfather Politics):
Last year, 20 year old Kevin Jonas Rojano-Nieto was in the garage of a family home playing video games when a 3 year old female relative entered the garage. Rojano-Nieto reportedly became sexually aroused and pulled the girl’s pants down. He forcibly made the girl fondle his own genitals before sodomizing the young girl. When she began to scream in pain and for help, the man placed his hand over her mouth to silence her.
The young girl later complained to her mom that she was hurting and then proceeded to tell her mom what happened. The mom called the police and investigation was immediately launched. Upon examination, physical evidence of the sexual attack was clearly visible and Rojano-Nieto was arrested.
An unspeakable crime. But even the most heinous criminals deserve their day in court. So this man got his due process, and was found guilty of raping the 3-year-old girl. The crime carries a mandatory 25-year prison sentence in his state. Justice would seem to be clear in the case.
However, Orange County Superior Court “Judge” M. Marc Kelly took it upon himself to reduce Rojano-Nieto’s sentence to only 10 years.
He declared the mandatory sentence to be ‘cruel and unusual punishment.’ Why? Because the child-molester didn’t really mean any harm.
“In looking at the facts of Mr. Rojano’s case, the manner in which this offense was committed is not typical of a predatory, violent brutal sodomy of a child case,” Kelly said.
He further stated that the convict ‘inexplicably became sexually aroused but did not appear to consciously intend to harm the victim’:
“Although serious and despicable, this does not compare to a situation where a pedophilic child predator preys on an innocent child,” Superior Court Judge M. Marc Kelly said, according to a City News Service article posted by the Orange County Register. “There was no violence or callous disregard for (the victim’s) well-being.”
Because when this grown man physically forced his depraved lusts on a defenseless 3-year old girl, he wasn’t being violent or predatory; he was just violating her in every possible way.
I’m sure he was very concerned about the toddler’s “well-being” as he destroyed her personal sanctity and her soul’s innocence to gratify his degenerate appetites.
But this proclaimed “judge” knows best.
He can read the mind of a convicted child-sodomizer and see that he meant no real harm. He didn’t go looking for a little kid to rape…he just happened to see this little girl and decided to force himself upon her.
This “judge” knows it wasn’t like one of those “predatory, violent brutal sodomy of a child” cases– this sodomy of a child by a grown man was peaceful and kind. Hardly rape at all, it would seem.
So to fully punish him for the crime he committed would be “cruel and unusual,” since his child-molestation wasn’t as bad as some other child-molestations. Nothing wrong with that standard.
I’m sure the parents of his innocent victim feel much better knowing that his attack on their precious daughter doesn’t really count…because it could have been much worse.
Certainly, this man who preyed on a toddler is the real victim. And this “judge,” in all his justice and wisdom, has declared 10 years is enough time-out for a grown man to learn that raping toddlers is a no-no.
This decision has since sparked public outrage, and calls for this “judge” to resign. But on what grounds, oh progressive society?
We’ve long ago rejected any notion of objective right and wrong applicable to all…so why be so hard on pedophiles?
University “experts” at Cambridge have declared “pedophilic interest is natural and normal for human males,” so why should acting on those “natural” and “normal” desires be punished at all?
Who are we (as parents, concerned citizens, decent human beings) to tell an “aroused” stranger he cannot molest our children? Bigots, that’s who.
One of the modern world’s professional thinkers (and renowned atheist) Richard Dawkins declared that we can’t “condemn” a little “mild pedophilia” which causes “no lasting harm.”
We’ve already had judges paving the way in this area, establishing that when a 54-year old man rapes his 14-year old student, it’s HER fault…because she was asking for it.
Why then should we look on this purported “judge” to be anything less than sympathetic to a convicted child-rapist? He’s only forcing the oppressive and intolerant laws to loosen up a little. After all, laws prohibiting child rape aren’t very inclusive of pedophiles, are they?
So we cannot inflict “cruel and unusual punishment” on this guilty man (for inflicting a “serious and despicable” crime on an innocent child). The dishonorable “Judge” Kelly must not consider allowing an occasional molester to rejoin our neighborhoods after just 10 years to be “cruel and unusual punishment” for law-abiding society.
But the almighty “judge” has spoken. In 10 years, a convicted child-rapist will walk freely among us…because he doesn’t intend any harm when he rapes kids, according to a man in robe.
Hide your kids, folks. The law can’t protect them anymore– not when the very men whom we trust to enforce the law have more compassion on child molesters than the children they victimize.
When we trade the law for man’s opinion, and trade men of character and judgment for equivocating worms in black robes, there is no justice in the land.
And when justice is gone, every man begins to seek his own way to avenge wrongs against his own. At such times, subjective standards become very dangerous things…when every man does what is right in his own eyes (and no one can tell them no).
