The Barry University honor student who recorded university officials saying that a pro-ISIS club would be all right with them says that she has been suspended.
Senior Laura Loomer shot the video at the Miami Shores university, telling an administrator that the proposed club, Sympathetic Students in Support of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, would raise money for humanitarian aid to to the terror group, a local NBC affiliate reported. The footage appears to suggest that Barry University officials were willing to remove the Islamic State reference from the name of the fake proposed club…. more
Here again is another glaring example of the morally inverted state of the world. Wasn’t the wrong person suspended? Shouldn’t the administration official(s) responsible for signing off an Islamic State student club be fired and made an example of?

Why would this Catholic university suspend the honor student responsible for exposing this grotesque lack of ethics and code of values?
Following the shocking video at Cornell University released by James O’Keefe a couple of weeks ago, Barry University officials in Florida also sanctioned a pro-ISIS club with the stated goal of sending material support to ISIS. The only suggestion by Barry officials was to change the name of the club “because technically our country is at war with ISIS.”
University and college campuses are hotbeds of hate and anti-Americanism. It’s not just the obvious horror of ISIS or CAIR or the MSA being welcome on college campuses. It’s that voices who oppose their savagery and carnage are banned. My colleagues and I are rarely invited to speak, and when we are, the blowback is deafening, even violent. Ayaan Hirsi Ali was uninvited from Brandeis, if you recall. It’s not just terror groups and hate preachers welcomed on US college campuses; Jewish students are routinely harassed and bullied on campus by Muslims and their leftist lapdogs.

Now, because Veritas’s video has caused the university such grief and embarrassment, Loomer has apparently been suspended and not allowed to attend classes or step foot on campus.
The alleged Barry University suspension notice to Loomer reads: “Your alleged actions were the cause root of disruption of the University community and the creation of a hostile environment for members of the University staff.”
Barry University has taken issue and made a statement regarding the video. University President Sister Linda Bevilacqua said, “It is reprehensible to think that any organization would acquire video and edit it in such way as to denigrate the reputation of Barry University or its staff.”
But this is not the first time this Catholic university has made news regarding radical Islam. In 2014, the school held an interfaith memorial service to remember the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks, where Imam Nasir Ahmad, leader of the Liberty City Mosque Masjid Al Ansar in Miami-Dade County, repeatedly chanted the ominous phrase “Allahu Akbar” during his 10-15 minute address.
Loomer, who was also in attendance at that memorial service, said she was offended with the Imam’s use of that insensitive chant, adding that she was “insulted that on a day like 9/11 they would allow for a man of Muslim faith to open the service and chant Allah Akbar, the words that suicide bombers and terrorists chant before blowing themselves up.”
