Better not say anything controversial, because we might offend someone. That idea, says David Barton, of Wallbuilders, is not Biblical.

In our soon to be released movie, Light Wins, David Barton said in the last 50 years, we have “made the mistake of redefining the Great Commission.”

He said, “If we’re going to do the Great Commission, that’s not just preach the Gospel and get people brought to Christ,” although that’s a great thing to do, Barton says, “The Great Commission is you teach them everything I have taught you, that’s what Jesus specifically said. And when you look at what Jesus has taught, Jesus clearly taught in Matthew 19 about marriage, He taught that marriage was the lifelong union of one man and one woman. If you’re going to fulfill the Great Commission, you have to talk about what He talked about.”
