Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act is exactly the same as laws in 19 other states. It’s the same bill that Barack Obama voted for when he was a state senator in Illinois. Its language is virtually identical to the 1993 act, which was introduced Chuck Schumer, supported by Ted Kennedy and signed into law by president Bill Clinton after it passed the House unanimously and the Senate 97-3.
