America was Sold a ‘Marriage Equality’ Lie

“If it goes down, it goes down with me standing up for my convictions and my faith.” Those are the words of Barronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers when I interviewed her for our documentary film on marriage, Light Wins, which is being released next week.

When this Southern Baptist grandmother told a long time customer that she could not participate in a homosexual so-called wedding because of her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the state of Washington sued her. And now a judge has ruled against her, waging lawyer’s fees and fines that could cost her her business and her home.

Kristen Waggoner, an attorney with the Alliance Defending Freedom called the ruling “terrifying.” She asked: “Remember when our elected leaders told us that same-sex marriage would not impact anyone? We were sold a lie.”
