Millie Weaver Charlottesville

Charlottesville Just May Be the Beginning of Something Sorely Needed

I recently watched a video of a newscast by a young reporter, Millie Weaver, who is with one of the online news outlets. She was on the scene at the recent “Unite the Right” peaceful-protest-turned-violent in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Ms. Weaver reported what I had suspected early on regarding the event. She described a staged effort by fascist leftists (and likely Deep State operatives) to deny a group of Americans their right to peaceful protest.

I searched the Internet for news of the event, because the network news reports were typically biased and twisted, as they usually are. First, characterizing the Unite the Right group as led by the KKK and identifying them as white nationalists was a deliberate attempt to spur racial animus. Then the refusal to characterize the attacking protesters as Black Lives Matter and Antifa, among others, reveals where the traditional media stand on this issue.

Ms. Weaver reported that the leftist groups were throwing balloons filled with body waste to provoke violence. She also reported that the Mayor of Charlottesville told the police to stand down and not to restrain the violent actors. Further, the police forced the Unite the Right group to leave the area directly through the raging leftists, as they were pelted and spat upon, according to her report.

It is very likely Deep State operatives infiltrated the ranks of Unite the Right. Their aim? To subvert the protesters’ goal of legitimately opposing the Left’s attempts to deny them a voice. And, of course, the goal of the Deep State is to scuttle President Trump’s efforts in behalf of these citizens. In the same vein, David Duke who inserted himself into the event has his own ulterior motives, I’m sure. He, like all power brokers on the left and the right, seeks political power.

For the record, I don’t fear a rise of the Klan because of Mr. Duke. Just as I had no fear of that eventuality from the late Senator Robert Byrd, esteemed Democrat senator until his death, who was also a former member of the KKK.

I always knew that the efforts on the part of leftist progressives, using victimhood-inflicted blacks as their shields, to denigrate Southern history and Southern people would lead to something like this event. Free people eventually fight back when they are cornered, as many Southern Americans must assuredly be feeling, these days—cornered.

I wrote an article some time ago regarding former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley’s removal of a Confederate flag in her state.1

I stressed that the removal of flags does not negate history. And further, no people will sit idly by as all evidences of their history are systematically scrubbed from national memory. The behavior is reminiscent of Nazi book-burning.

I was born and reared a black American in the era of legal segregation in the South, and I concur with the Southerners’ feelings of outrage. I concur because I know the attempts to scrub our history stem from racism and hatred on the part of anti-American leftists. The same goes for removal of statues of great men because of the side they chose during the Civil War. Those men are just as worthy of busts and statues as the great men fighting on the other side, some of whom were their kin. I’ve about had it with the one-sidedness of the discussion.

The Civil war was about much more than slavery, and the relationships between slaves and free people were not as black and white as racists would have us think (no pun intended). There were many shades of gray.

I also wrote an article regarding the eventual rising up of white Americans against the blatant, racist attempts to relegate them to third-class citizenship, especially white men.2

Mind you, no American should be denigrated in such a way, neither black, white, Asian or any mixture thereof. But the progressive Left’s goal is to rip the nation apart racially so as more easily to enslave us all to their socialist agenda.

One of the points I made in the article is that eventually white people so impugned by the racist Left (which sadly includes all races) would retaliate. The article focused on then Attorney General, Eric Holder’s racialist Justice Department. At the time, Holder had declared himself an “activist” Attorney General, which I interpreted to mean a small-minded, racist perverter of justice. This is an excerpt from that article:

While white Congressional members cower at Holder’s blackness, leaving him to flaunt his racist judicial policies, there exists whites of another caliber who are not cowering. These are the Americans who, for whatever reasons, have traditionally hated blacks – the Klan, neo-Nazis and other fascist and leftist types. They are supposedly “the fringe.” These people do not need reasons for racial hatred, but they are being given more and more such reasons as Eric Holder exercises his brand of racialist justice. All they need now to spark retaliation is justification for thinking that their lives are threatened. And I would say the Holder Justice Department is dishing out justification in spades.

In addition, everyday American whites – people who have not been prone to hatred of blacks – are becoming increasingly fed-up with the violent, destructive, and lawless behavior of many blacks, such as those currently running amok in Ferguson, Missouri. These Americans also resent, and justly so, the usual support that such mobs receive from Holder and Obama, no matter how racist and criminal the mob behavior may be. The agitators can always whine “white racism” and be assured that Holder and Obama will be there to subvert justice. How long before some of these average Americans conclude that their lives are also threatened by black racial hatred and feel compelled to join “the fringe”?

I think those everyday Americans have reached their limit. There may well have been hate mongers among the Unite the Right protesters, but I think some of them (maybe the majority) see the unmitigated attack on all that is historically Southern and white (General Robert E. Lee in this case) as a direct attack on their existence. I think they have good reason to say “Enough.”
