Liberty Counsel files a reply brief to the Virginia Supreme Court in the LGBT, or ‘bathroom case,’ if you will.
Mat Staver: We’ve now filed, Matt, our final brief in this case at the Virginia Supreme Court. It’s our reply brief. We filed the opening brief. The Fairfax County School Board filed its opposition brief, and we have filed our reply brief. Now the case is before the Virginia Supreme Court. We’re getting ready to set oral arguments sometime in February. That’s at the court’s discretion. There’s a specific week they are looking at in February 2017, in which I’ll appear before the Virginia Supreme Court to present this argument.
This is a major case because it involves this issue of the LGBT policies — the so-called ‘gender identity’ additions to these non-discrimination categories. Which, in these contexts, literally allow boys, or men, to use women’s facilities — whether it’s restrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, shower rooms, other private facilities and so forth.
Matt Barber: It’s amazing how The Left can call up ‘down’ and down ‘up.’ So what is actually at issue here — yea, civil rights. There are civil rights at issue…
