The city of West Palm Beach has passed an ordinance that prohibits so-called reparative therapy. We’re going to be talking about this with an expert on Faith and Freedom.
Mat Staver: Dr. Julie Hamilton is with us. She is a licensed counselor in the state of Florida, in that area. Welcome to Faith and Freedom Dr. Hamilton.
Dr. Julie Hamilton: Thank-you very much!
Mat Staver: Well, you know we have talked before on this program about this issue when it first came out in California and they passed a statewide law, then New Jersey. We’ve had lawsuits against those bills.
Now what we’re seeing is local city councils, like in this particular case, in West Palm Beach, Florida, frankly violating state law because you can’t have these different counseling laws that are in contradiction to state laws. Therefore this is a case that Liberty Counsel will be pursuing.
But for those who are listening who may not have heard the term “Reparative Therapy,” tell us what that is. And sometimes that word is used with regards to these laws…
