Pastors and Churches Should Ignore Threats to be Silent

Faith and Freedom with Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver and Holly Meade… An 11-minute weekday radio program discussing hot topics in the area of religious liberty, the sanctity of human life and the family.

Pastors and churches should ignore threats to be silent. These threats come every election cycle, and they’re bogus, and they’re hollow threats, and pastors and churches should not be intimidated. We’re going to be talking about what pastors and churches can do with regard to legal and political issues, and social issues on Faith and Freedom.

Mat Staver: Well, once again, Holly, like a broken record, Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, is sending out baseless, threatening letters to pastors and threatening that they will possibly lose their tax exempt status if they give out voter guides or other things like that. The fact of the matter is that Americans United for Separation of Church and State has not won a single threat in its history, in the history of America against a church regarding tax exempt status.

No church has ever lost its tax exemption over political activity.

Holly Meade: You know, I think it all goes back to, you know,  Lyndon Johnson was feeling threatened during the election…
