Mat Staver: Kim Davis was obviously big in the news in 2015. One of the top stories throughout the United States according to the Associated Press. Someone who was known around the world for her stand with regards to marriage. She would not compromise by giving her name and title and authority to authorize a marriage that was contrary to God’s definition of marriage.
As a result she spent time in jail, but as a result of her stand, and the litigation that Liberty Counsel was involved in, and still are involved in to this day, lots of things have happened including the passage of Senate Bill 216, which amends the key provisions of the Kentucky marriage licensing scheme. And expressly allows the Kentucky clerks to remove their name, their title, and any personal identification from any marriage licenses if they object because of their religious objections and they seek an accommodation…
