Democrat Duplicity Continues
With the Democrat Party’s “historic” coronation of Hillary Clinton all but assured, it appears likely that Democrat duplicity will persist for some time. Barack Obama’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton as candidate for president, all but assures that Mrs. Clinton will once again escape accountability for the negligence, lack of sound judgment and federal crimes that stain her public life. But this is not unusual for members of her political party.
Millennials won’t remember the tragic death of the late Senator Edward Kennedy’s love interest, Mary Jo Kopechne and others may have forgotten. Miss Kopechne was allowed to drown in the shallow water of a tidal pool off of Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts, after Democrat Senator Kennedy drove the two of them off a bridge. As Mary Jo lay dead in the water, Kennedy was busy contacting his lawyer rather than summoning aid for her. He did not report her death until 10 hours later and no charges were ever filed.
History has an odd way of repeating, especially when injustices occur that are left to languish. Perhaps, it’s the Lord’s way of giving us a second chance to do what is required of an honorable people. If so, it looks as if Americans are about to make the same awful mistake a second time.
The list of crimes committed by Democrat candidate, Hillary Clinton is long and sordid. It’s public knowledge that she committed numerous federal espionage crimes–felonies that would land any private citizen in prison for decades. But as with Edward Kennedy, if your name is Clinton, the laws don’t apply to you. Why? Because Democrat supporters are not troubled by technicalities such as criminal laws. The roots of corruption in the Democrat party run long and deep.
Democrat politicians who commit felonies rarely resign, they never apologize or make restitution to their victims. They are never held accountable for their actions; instead, they fight. They will lie, smear their accusers, appeal to semantic absurdities such as “it depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” They will even resort to unnecessary military action as did former president Bill Clinton, in order to shift the nation’s attention away from his sexual misconduct. They will obstruct justice as Kennedy did and the Clintons continue to do, and they will stonewall any investigation into their corruption and crimes. It’s a strategy of deny and delay.
Senior Democrat officials like former Attorney General, Eric Holder, are routinely permitted to escape the consequences of their lawless actions such as Operation Fast and Furious. This illegal operation resulted in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry, and dozens of Mexican people.
Americans are fond of believing that all people are equal under the law, but that has not been the case for many decades. At least, not if you are a Democrat. Former Republican Governor of Virginia, Bob McDonnell, was convicted on conspiracy and corruption charges under Eric Holder’s Justice Department, because he accepted a loan from a donor and businessman. McDonnell was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Former Democrat Senators Chris Dodd and Evan Bayh used their positions on the Senate Banking Committee to obtain sub-par mortgage loans for themselves and walked away. Dodd is now a Hollywood lobbyist. Neither were ever charged.
Virginia’s current Democrat Governor and former political advisor to Bill Clinton, Terry McAuliffe, is now under investigation by the F.B.I. for illegal campaign contributions he accepted from Chinese politician, Wang Wenliang. McAuliffe is also under fire for restoring the voting rights to 200,000 Virginia convicts by executive order, just in time for the November election. Some of these criminals are still in prison. Statewide, the broadcast media has all but buried McAuliffe’s scandals. Don’t expect McAuliffe to be impeached or charges to be filed against him for corruption in these or any other matters. The Democrat duplicity continues.
American government can neither establish nor maintain its vital authority when one of its political parties attempts to uphold the law, and the other does everything possible to circumvent the law. Democrat duplicity is not restricted to the executive and legislative branches of our government, the same double-standard exists in our courts, most notably, the Supreme Court.
Democrat-appointed justices manage to find “rights” hidden within the Constitution that the language does not articulate, whereas Republican-appointed justices rightly restrict themselves to what the document actually contains. They do this out of respect for our nation’s founding document and in honor of their sworn oaths.
In 2016, America is not a nation of laws but of men. Revolt and anarchy are just a breath away when authorities demand of the people, rigid adherence to laws that they themselves neither uphold nor respect. Since the 1960s, liberals and Democrat politicians have sought to undermine the nobility of the faith, foundational principles and divine inspiration that led to the establishment of our country. When this destruction is perfected, law becomes arbitrary and no longer worthy of respect, even by the people.
America’s founders recognized Divine order and purpose in the world. They referred to this as natural law. Upon this solid foundation, the principles and laws of the United States were built. In our time, every fundamental ideal is being cast-off and condemned as oppressive. Like the foolish woman of the Proverbs, we are pulling down the roof of our home upon our own heads. The maxim, right is right and left is wrong is being proved true with every passing day.
Moving forward is not progress if any people is heading in the wrong direction, and we are. America needs a drastic course change now. Refusing to tolerate the rampant Democrat duplicity would be a good place to start.
