The Heresy of the ‘Christian’ Democrat
With the rise of the “Christian” Democrat I have felt a fervency rising in me, a righteous indignation at the heresy conveyed as truth in regards to who Jesus Christ was and how he would have reacted to sin in a modern age. The hearts of those depicting the Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah as a mealy-mouthed, milquetoast, Ghandi-like pacifist have turned so far from what the Bible actually says that their heresy is almost palpable.
Who is Jesus?
John 1:1 & 1:14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
…And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us…
Jesus is God and He always was. He is the whole of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible in its entirety is not only all about Him, it reveals the fullness of His nature.
Jesus did not come to abolish the Old Testament Law, but to fulfill it.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
The wage of sin is death and it always has been. Jesus is our blood sacrifice which has always been required for the atonement of sin. Under the Old Testament Law, we sacrificed goats, rams or sheep. In the New Testament, all we need is to admit the need for and accept with sincerity of heart redemption through the blood of Jesus. Sin must still be turned from and righteousness must still be sought.
What is sin?
The Ten Commandments is a good place to start. Although Jesus himself gave over 250 additional Commandments while he was here on earth.
Any Christian Liberal or Conservative who is fully armed with the knowledge of what is and is not sin yet refuses to share that knowledge with a neighbor in need of Christ’s atoning blood commits sin.
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin
Bearing in mind that Jesus Christ Himself is the entire Word of God one cannot simply throw out the parts that don’t fit their narrative.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness
The Bible is very clear about homosexuality, sexual conduct outside of wedlock, abortion, with whom to fellowship, wealth redistribution, the wages of sin (both in this world and the world to come,) the right of man to defend himself and the rights to liberty and freedom.
Those unclear on the glaring examples of the aforementioned issues as contained within the Holy Writ are recommended to start by reading the 260 Commandments mentioned above and them move on to the Book Of Romans if still uncertain.
Hebrews 4:12 says that the Word of God (Jesus Christ) is a sharper than any Sword.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
I believe Christian Democrats’ hearts are mostly in the right place. Although some clearly use Christ as a justification for their desires to lead a sinful life. ie; Homosexual “ministers.” You cannot have unrepentant sin within the Priesthood.
When confronted with direct questions about Liberal policy a “Christian” Democrat will invariably “jump-the-shark” and say:
“Do you disagree that we are to help the poor?”
This is, admittedly, their strongest argument and the reason that so many fall into the lie of Liberal compassion.
Scripture, however, is clear about showing partiality to any man.
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
Christ himself said the poor would always be with us.
For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
Instead of focusing the whole of our love-driven efforts on bringing earthly comfort to those “less fortunate” perhaps we should spend more time pouring out the precious ointment of worship upon our Savior by telling them about His love? The least-of-these that we are commanded to care for will not receive any eternal reward without salvation through Jesus Christ and every moment we have spent with them will have been wasted.
We are indeed to help the poor but our alms are to be done in secret between us and God. Our good works are not to be on public display, to be seen and honored of men and are certainly not to be carried out at the point of a dictatorial spear.
That which is “holy” is not dictated from the White House. It is not, nor has it ever been, the responsibility of the Government to legislate morality. The responsibility for the poor lies in the individual and the church, not in bigger government.
The Conservative painted as the uncaring, wealthy, white Capitalist that spits on the homeless man as he strides by in his Armani suit is perhaps the most offensive characterization of a blood-bought child of God that I can imagine.
Statistically, Conservatives are more charitable than Liberals. Conservatives are more likely to “tithe” at their local Church and more likely to volunteer their time than Liberals, yet they are the ones painted with the “selfish” brush-stroke of Liberal anti-Christian bigotry.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Let me ask you Liberal “Christian”, when was the last time you actually visited the fatherless, or the widow or in fact did anything for anyone less fortunate than yourselves? Spending your evening spamming Twitter hashtags on your $700 iPhone doesn’t count, nor does spray-painting some ridiculous pacifist slogan on a t-shirt and protesting an animal shelter. Do not mistake activism for sanctification. Jesus never attended nor organized a protest, ever.
1 Timothy 4:1-6
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
It is certain that the Democratic party has failed in keeping itself “unspotted from the world.” The blood of 55 million innocents is on the Democratic Parties hands. The continued enslavement of the African-American Community due to ludicrous welfare and wealth re-distribution programs in lieu of actual empowerment through job training is on their head. The proliferation of Socialism, Communism, Radical-Islam and the rise of the LGBTQ’s Army of Religious Intolerance is the product of the Liberal Progressive agenda, not of Conservatism.
When the Bible has been successfully deemed “hate-speech,” and removed from circulation, will those who accelerated its removal then concede their heretical error? Christianity without the Bible, is not Christianity.
But I digress. What would Jesus do?
Better yet to ask, what did He do?
Jesus Christ had many monikers :The Son of God – The Lion of The Tribe of Judah – The Alpha and The Omega – The King of Kings- The Rock of Ages – The Rock of Offense – The Commander- The Ruler- The Shield- The Righteous Judge and Emmanuel, meaning “God With Us.” When He was with us, he walked among a godless and disobedient people, speaking the Word of God with boldness, in love. The Holy One disregarded the feelings of those who took offense at the Truth and was beaten, scourged, mocked and ultimately murdered for it.
As He died He said: Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
If you are preaching a Gospel that those enslaved by wickedness, immorality, perversion and selfishness are eager to hear, you are, without a doubt, doing it wrong.
