‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: Vehicle for Social Justice Warrior Propaganda?
Star Wars: The Force Awakens recently released its latest trailer and while the movie undoubtedly will be a success, it also will be used as a vehicle for social justice warriors to continue their fight to destroy society.
Even if you have no interest in the Star Wars franchise you probably can’t get away from hearing about it. Advertisements and cultural references to it are everywhere, especially since Hollywood is about to debut a new entry in the series. And while you might think this is just going to be another popular fantasy movie with no message, it will be more than that. After all, social justice warriors (SJW) are already using it in their fight to destroy everything that is normal and good.
Doug Ernst, a writer for WND and independent cultural analyst, covered the latest concern about SJW activism seeping into Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He wrote about it in an Oct. 20 post at his website, explaining how the director of the movie (J. J. Abrams) has pushed his politics in previous films, and how he (Abrams) is a big Democratic supporter. Ernst ended by stating what he thinks will happen with The Force Awakens.
It is highly unlikely Disney would allow its first “Star Wars” movie to get too heavy-handed with politics, but it is not unreasonable to believe Abrams would stitch his own activist politics into the finished product.
My prediction: “The Force Awakens” will be a fun movie that people of all ages and ethnicities can enjoy, even if there are subtle instances where JJ “I -hold-huge-Hollywood-fundraisers-for-Democrats” Abrams tries to sneak his own brand of activism into the finished product. That is par for the course in Hollywood. The key thing is to simply be aware of it when it happens.
I believe he is accurate with his assessment: subtle activism but activism nonetheless. In fact, we can already see how Disney is allowing SJW to use the Star Wars franchise to spread their message. . . .
