Stephen Colbert Proves the Slippery Slope Is Real
Last week, TV host Stephen Colbert took aim at those who oppose same-sex “marriage” and believe that it will open the door to all kinds of other “marital” arrangements.
To the delight of his TV audience, and utilizing his comedic gifts, he mocked Rep. Steve King and Dr. Ben Carson before getting to the heart of his presentation: Stephen Colbert’s All-Inclusive Wedding Cake Toppers.
What makes this so ironic, though, is that the very arguments he raised actually prove that the slippery slope argument is true.
Watch this 9-minute video where I have some fun with Stephen Colbert and thank him for proving our point.
“What about the polygamists? What about the cast of Sister Wives? A guy with his multiple wives went to the state of Utah and appealed, took issue with some of the laws against polygamy and one of the laws was already reversed. And no sooner — the Supreme Court made its ruling on June 26 — than polygamists were going to were going to the court saying ‘What about us?’ so those groups are hardly hidden, hardly unknown.”
