When It Comes to America’s God Acknowledging Creed, Trump Fails the Test
When it comes to the issue of fundamental principle, i.e. the acknowledgement of God as the standard (source, substance and ruler) of right and justice, Donald Trump has failed the test on every occasion. His response to the U. S. Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision, and Kim Davis’s act of civil obedience (to God, reason, and the Constitution) is a case in point. This failure is the “devil’s tail”, i.e., the sign of Trump’s affiliation with the elitist faction’s agenda to overthrow Constitutional self-government, of by and for the people.
This failure is consistent with the overwhelming preponderance of the evidence of his life, almost all of which contradicts the rhetorical poses he has taken in recent months. It is consistent with his place among the elitist faction’s media powers, and his friendly relations with Bill Clinton, whom he called, apparently to discuss how the GOP’s conservative base would react to his rhetorical ploys.
When Obama was being touted as some kind of “moderate” Democrat, all the evidence of his life pointed to the fact that he was what he has proven to be- a hardline, communist/socialist disciple of the Saul Alinsky/Antonio Gramsci School. I pointed to that fact, to no avail. The facts suggest, with reasonable certainty, that Trump, far from being any kind of conservative, is a soft-core leftist ideologue. To make money he has exuberantly exploited the opportunities for political bribery offered by the corrupt “big government” approach to capitalism. In this respect he is like George Soros.
He has reinvented himself for rhetorical purposes, but this doesn’t change who he is. His supposed opposition to the GOP quislings will evaporate. He will govern using the same quisling/Democrat coalition that has determined every critical outcome since Obama took office. He exactly corresponds to my longstanding prediction that the Caesar who finally and openly puts an end to the American republic will be wearing a Republican label at the time.
The fact that so many conservatives are rushing blindly into this obvious elitist faction trap grieves me, but it also forces me to consider the spiritual reality of America’s situation. Even self-professed Christians, people who therefore profess to hold to the understanding of God’s rule over human justice that America’s Founders articulated in the Declaration of Independence, now act as if they are ashamed of, or have forgotten the fundamental self-evident truth the Declaration affirms, which is the authority of the Creator. But who is the Creator? The Scripture tells them: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, the Word was God. The same as was in the beginning with God, through which all things came to be, and without which not even one came to be. And in Jesus Christ that Word “became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1: 1-3, 17)
As the Word through which all things were made, Jesus Christ was the Creator, God. America is founded on the premise of right and justice that expresses His benevolent intention for human nature. In life, death, and resurrection, Jesus the Christ was the extraordinary proof of that intention. His sacrifice opened the way for human beings to fulfill it again within themselves, as Adam did before the fall, as they dwelt (Genesis 5:2) in the presence of God without sin, and therefore fully, without the prospect of fear. For by Christ we realize the presence of God not as a prospect only, but self-consciously, as an indwelling principle.
When we trust and accept the sacrifice of Christ for our sake, He becomes the basis for our communion with God, so that we become, as it were like Christ, begotten of God. If we let Christ become us, as the wedding dress becomes the bride, His presence imparts the ability to express God’s not only as a rule but as a fact. For then it is not we who act but Christ acting in us; God acting with us, and through us in and for the communities formed by our goodwill.
The Christian Founders of the United States intended, by their actions, to enact this goodwill, thereby securing for the people of the United States the blessings of the liberty wherewith Christ (the Word of God in Creation) hath made us free. What was the true greatness of America if our reliance on the courage, spirit and good faith of ordinary Americans? Can we restore that greatness without reaffirming the authority of the Creator, whose being in and for us makes them possible? Of course not! So when Donald
Trump neglects the premise and logic of the Declaration’s acknowledgment of God’s authority, he proves that his promise to restore America’s greatness is a lie. Be it deceit or self-deceit, it really doesn’t matter. What he promises with words, he proves, by his neglect of the primordial self-evident truth, that he will never perform.
I warn against Donald Trump as I warned against Obama; as I warn against Ben Carson. Whatever their poses on this issue or that, they represent the elitist faction’s characteristic rejection of the God-acknowledging principles of the Declaration of Independence, America’s definitive national creed.
If people ignore my warning voice now, as they did before, then God’s will be done. At least I will have done my duty as a Christian, and as an American of goodwill.
