War Room: Coming Soon and Desperately Needed!
I have seen the trailer several times now and am counting the days until August 28, at which time I will write a proper review.
But in the meanwhile, this movie, War Room, looks to be good for what ails America: souls that are dying, babies being murdered, marriage under assault. And more. Much much more.
These are just terrible symptoms of a larger sickness that has to do with the spiritual condition of our nation.
As the Apostle Paul warned us:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The movie synopsis:
From the award-winning creators of Fireproof and Courageous comes WAR ROOM, a compelling drama with humor and heart that explores the power that prayer can have on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and every other area of our lives.
Tony and Elizabeth Jordan have it all—great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving. Tony and Elizabeth Jordan’s world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. While Tony basks in his professional success and flirts with temptation, Elizabeth resigns herself to increasing bitterness.
But their lives take an unexpected turn when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara, and is challenged to establish a “war room” and a battle plan of prayer for her family. As Elizabeth tries to fight for her family, Tony’s hidden struggles come to light. Tony must decide if he will make amends to his family and prove Miss Clara’s wisdom that victories don’t come by accident.
Opening nationwide in theaters August 28 and filled with more of the authentic characters loved by millions in previous Kendrick Brothers’ films, WAR ROOM is a vivid reminder that prayer is a powerful weapon.
Watch the trailer and join in my anxious anticipation for the release:
No, I don’t know the Kendrick brothers, but I’d sure like to meet them! In fact, I’d like to interview them on my radio show.
They started with a small and scrappy budget, produced surprising good films with heart and humor. And each successive Kendrick bros movie is better than the previous one.
This one, War Room? It looks terrific.
And at a time when our nation so desperately needs hearts turned to God and people that will do battle on their knees, I say the timing is perfect.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
