Rubio Leaps To Head Of GOP Field, Ties With Hillary In National Poll
Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio leads the GOP field in a new national poll, and matches up best against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
Clinton tops every GOP candidate in a national head-to-head matchup– except for Rubio, who ties her statistically, the Quinnipiac University Poll finds. With a standard deviation of plus or minus 2.7 points, Clinton takes 45 percent of the national support against Rubio’s 43 percent.
Rubio is the newest addition to the GOP field, following Republican Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. He jumped to the top spot in the field with the support of 15 percent of Republican primary voters.
Rubio is followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, with 13 percent of the primary support, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker with 11 percent, and Cruz with 9 percent. Paul gets 8 percent. (RELATED: Rand Splits With Rubio, Cruz To Vote For Deficit-Exploding Healthcare Bill)
