We do not want our past to be our children’s future.
Those are the words spoken by concentration camp survivor Roman Kent, while visiting Auschwitz, on the 70th anniversary of it’s liberation.
The European Jewish Congress compared “jihadism” with “Nazism,” reporting a doubling of Anti-Semitic acts in France, home to the largest Jewish population in Europe. Before he left Paris to attend the event, the French President spoke to a Jewish audience saying, “France is your homeland,” and described the rise in anti-Semitic attacks as “unbearable.”
Also attending the anniversary was Rainer Hoess, the grandson of Rudolf Hoess, the Auschwitz commander. Unlike his father and grandfather, Rainer has devoted his life to fighting anti-Semitism.
