Congressional Backlash Intensifies

avatar

Earlier this year, President Obama goaded Congress with, “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign Executive Orders and take executive actions…”

As you now know, President Obama has made good on those threats by issuing numerous Executive Orders, including recent decrees on immigration amnesty and mandating 3,400 new EPA regulations. Last week, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) took President Obama to task, and cited a jointly held distrust of the President by the American people.

“His decision to take unilateral action on immigration – action he himself said exceeded his authority – makes it harder for the American people and their elected representatives to trust his word on any issue.”

Speaker Boehner then vowed that Republicans would stand against President Obama’s unlawful mandates. “We’re looking at a variety of options, both for right now and when Republicans control both Houses of the Congress next year.”

Demand Congress Stop Obama’s Lawless Actions!

Across the nation, growing numbers of outraged citizens are getting engaged, demanding elected representatives take decisive action and force this lawless administration to stop usurping the power of the American people. Join with Americans who are using Liberty Counsel Action’s fax barrage to send a powerful message to their senators and representative – as well as 18 other congressional leaders, demanding immediate intervention into Barack Obama’s abuse of power.

Senator Ted Cruz Warns Americans To Be Concerned About Obama’s Actions.

“The President’s taste for unilateral action to circumvent Congress should concern every citizen, regardless of party or ideology.[N]o one – and especially not the President – is above the law. For that reason, the U.S. Constitution imposes on every president the express duty to ‘take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”

As you know, under the Constitution, Congress is charged with passing and enacting laws. The Executive Branch is charged with enforcing them. Executive Orders were implemented to clarify or further define exiting laws – not create them!
