Regcession: America in the Undertow
As I discussed a few months ago, the cost of compliance with all the government regulations on the “free” market is now bigger than the entire economies of all but nine countries in the world. Since there are 196 countries in the world today, that means regulatory costs in America equal more money than the combined economies of 187 countries, or $1.86 TRILLION.
Imagine how many more jobs there might be in an expanding and expanded economy where business had $1.86 TRILLION more to create new business, expand existing ones, test and produce new products. Imagine how much better employees might be paid in wages and benefits if American businesses had $1.86 TRILLION more freed up that they weren’t wasting to pay for compliance with often asinine and counterproductive government regulations.
Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution enumerates the things the federal government is empowered to do. If you read Article 1 Section 8, you will find that there is absolutely zero authority for the federal government to meddle in the affairs if privately-owned businesses. There is absolutely zero constitutional authority for the federal government to create an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other regulatory agencies which send swarms of officers to harass free people and eat out their substance.
Isn’t it well past time we the American people insisted that our leaders rein in this out-of-control and unconstitutional government, and let freedom rein? And if these leaders won’t, isn’t it well past time we replaced them with leaders who WILL obey the Constitution?
I was honored to be interviewed for this film, and you’ll see a few bites from me spread throughout the documentary with other insights by columnist Marita Noon, Iaian Murray of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore, advisor to Margaret Thatcher Lord Monckton, climatologist Dr. Roy Spencer, and more.
Please watch the film; it’s an eye-opener. Then share it with your friends. Then take action!
