When five states cried for help to defend their voter-passed marriage amendments, the Supreme Court looked the other way, ignoring the appeals from Utah, Oklahoma, Virginia, Indiana, and Wisconsin,
Ryan Anderson of the Heritage Foundation, said, “The Supreme Court should have reviewed these cases and should have upheld the authority of citizens and their elected representatives to make good marriage policy. Instead, [they] left standing bad rulings from lower federal courts that usurped authority from the people by striking down good laws.”
Still in the balance is a Sixth Circuit decision regarding Ohio and Michigan’s marriage amendments, and a Fifth Circuit ruling on marriage in Texas and Louisiana. Now it’s time for an Appeal to Heaven.
