Worshiping at the Altar of Homosexualism

News item:

Essendon will create a new membership specially for polyamorist fans, a move that could help pave the way for an Australian Football League (AFL)-sanctioned Polyamory Pride Round. The Poly Bombers is an initiative of long-time fan and club sponsor Jason Tuazon-McCheyne. The membership will be available for the 2015 season. Tuazon-McCheyne said it was thrilling that Essendon was taking ”a stand against polyphobia”.

Midfielder Brendon Goddard said the Purple Bombers was a natural extension of the club’s #EFCRespect program, which was launched earlier this year. ”[That program] is about welcoming everyone from every diversity to footy and this is just an extension of that. We’re very honoured. It’s a privilege to support Jason and the Poly Bombers,” he said.

The above story is completely true – except for a few words I have swapped around. Instead of polyamory, simply substitute the word homosexual. Otherwise, this is a true story – absolutely nuts, but true. Another report on this adds more info:

“It was Jason’s initiative with the Purple Bombers and it’s in support of the gay community. We launched a program on respect earlier in the year welcoming everyone from every diversity around the country to footy, making it a welcoming place and this is just an extension of that,’’ Goddard said.

“We’re very honoured and privileged to be able to support Jason and his Purple Bombers and his peers. We actually talked about it a number of months ago at a function, so it’s great for this to come to fruition and for us to support it. We want to create an environment, not only here at Essendon but at the footy, where everyone is welcome and everyone is equal.”

Equal? It seems some groups are clearly more equal than others. A mere one to two per cent of the population is not being treated equally here, but is actually being given special rights which no one else has. That is why I mention the blatant and gross discrimination Essendon and the AFL are showing polyamorists.

And it is not just those poor fans who are having their rights denied by the bigoted AFL. What about all the other fans who are not getting special treatment, their own pride round, and so on? When do adulterers, fornicators, paedophiles and those into bestiality get their own special days and celebrations?

Why don’t we in fact have special days and promotions for far larger groups of AFL fans, such as accountants, drunk drivers, farmers and shoplifters? They all love their footy, so why isn’t the AFL treating them equally? After all, Brendon assured us that they “want to create an environment, not only here at Essendon but at the footy, where everyone is welcome and everyone is equal.”

And hey, I am a Bible-believing Christian. Does he really want me to feel welcome? Then when do Christians get their own day? And guess what? Real Christians are deeply offended by the immoral and dangerous homosexual lifestyle. So obviously by granting special rights to one minority group, you are discriminating against a much larger group. So where is the equality?

The thing that really gets me about all this shear madness is that these clowns at Essendon and the AFl are actually saying these things with a straight face. They actually expect to be taken seriously. Except for the past few decades, no one in the history of the human race would have come up with such complete and utter stupidity.

For most of human history this unhealthy lifestyle was at best tolerated. But now we are all being forced to celebrate it, promote it, luxuriate in it, and bless it – whether we want to or not. How can we account for this total lunacy? The only thing I can come up with is that we now have a new Western religion which no one dare gainsay: homosexualism.

We will now all worship at the altar of homosexualism, and any apostates will be swiftly and harshly dealt with. Just like some sick cult, everyone is expected to fully conform, follow the official religious line, or face excommunication and worse.

The cult of homosexualism is now in full bloom, and just as with any cult, it asks us all to completely throw away our brains and simply conform and do as you are told. We will fully submit to what our religious superiors tell us to do, and we dare not question the official dogma of homosexualism.

The holy laws of homosexualism are now in place, and everyone will bow and worship. All those daring to question any of this will meet their fate. Re-education camps and indoctrination centers will just be a part of the way the authorities deal with any recalcitrants.

So, do you like footy? Well, the only way you can now enjoy it is through the religion of homosexualism. And soon enough every other area of life will also be brought under the rule of the homosexualism religion. There will be no exceptions.

People often worry about a coming world religion which will enslave the entire world. Well, I think we have now found it: the cult of homosexualism.

Such obsession with what other people are doing.

“Real Christians are deeply offended by the immoral and dangerous homosexual lifestyle”

1 Corinthians 5:9:12-13 — “I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.””

If 1 Corinthians 2:14 means what many people think it means, then all this fixating on worldly people’s behavior will come across as, well, foolishness. Just follow the Great Commission, and Scripture gives you a green light to do all the teaching, correcting and shepherding that you want when they join the church. That’s why all of the passages that deal with correcting others deals with the behavior of Christian brothers and sisters.

Criticizing other people gives us a feeling of superiority.

This article, unfortunately (and I suspect deliberately) missed out the core of the original story as to the reason why a special LGBT membership organisation is required. It’s because of homophobic slurs and taunts by what I hope is a small minority of the ‘standard’ crowd during matches. Here is the important quote:

“Tuazon-McCheyne said it was thrilling that Essendon was taking ”a stand against homophobia”. ”It’s really important when I take my husband and son to the
football that I don’t have to hear discriminatory words or offensive
words and I can feel safe and valued. And the Essendon Football Club
    does care about its fans.”

So that’s the reason for ‘gay special rights’ – to go to matches where gay families don’t suffer from homophobic verbal abuse.

    • thisoldspouse

So, you guys were lying. You DO demand approval.

      • vorpal

Since when does requesting that not suffering homophobic verbal abuse equate to demanding your approval?

Spouse, disapprove away! Indeed, I fully support your right to do so!

        • thisoldspouse

My disapproval will usually be expressed, not in abusive words directed toward two homosexuals acting out in public, but most definitely they would get the feeling I disapprove, which is ALWAYS construed as “discrimination” to you homosexuals. If I were with children or grandchildren, I would likely attempt to shield them from viewing any overt homosexual display. If they asked questions about the relationship, I would be honest and say that children with them were likely purchased by these men to “play house.”

Nick said that he wanted to “feel safe and valued.” If he had stopped at safe, I could agree with him. But I and untold millions will never value a perverted relationship, even if it adds innocent children to attempt an appearance of normalcy. And we won’t shrink from saying so.

          • Kevin Moses

No one is asking you to value their relationship. Don’t be outwardly abusive (and thus eliminating the feeling of being safe) and you are free to think as you please. The valued feeling should come from the team, meaning that they are actively saying that they want the support of gay individuals. If you disagree, it doesn’t really affect you, there will now just be openly gay fans supporting the same team. Conservative Christian fans are not being told they are unwelcome, just that you have to learn to play nice with others.

          • thisoldspouse

What do you mean by “outwardly abusive” is the key here. A gaggle of rabid homosexual activists thought Branden Eich’s donation to the Proposition 8 campaign years ago rose to this level. How much less would the day-to-day operations of normal Americans be considered “abuse” to these power-hungry sodomites?

          • Kevin Moses

What I mean by abusive is that if a gay couple were to attend a sports function and other fans start yelling and screaming derogatory slurs and just making their stay unpleasant, as if their very presence was a problem, that would be abusive and what I think this team is trying to speak out against. If a couple showed up and you just ignored them and told your children that they are evil sodomites, no one would have much of a problem with that, or even if you felt entitled to share that opinion calmly with the couple and they told you where you can shove it, again, no issues.

As for the Brendan Eich thing, he actively contributed to legislation that continued to deny rights to a segment of the population. They have every reason to be a little annoyed at that. But notice that no legal action was taken against him, he had every right to donate to whatever he wanted to. But freedom of speech just means legal protection from the consequences of your speech. So Eich was forced to leave because Mozilla did not want to have to deal with the negative publicity that would come with keeping him. As a corporation, they have a reputation to uphold and they have every right to protect it.

            > ‘but most definitely they would get the feeling I disapprove, which is ALWAYS construed as “discrimination” to you homosexuals’

I can’t speak for any other gay people, but I wouldn’t view that as discrimination. If you approached me about holding hands with my husband and decided to engage me in a confrontation about it, I would have no objections telling you off and where you can shove it, but I wouldn’t label you as discriminatory for speaking your mind. You can tell your children / grandchildren anything you want: doesn’t mean that I don’t think that you’re attempting to poison their mind with nonsense and hatred, but we’re just going to have to disagree on that point.

Nick never said that he needed to feel valued universally. Humans – being social creatures – DO need to feel valued to live satisfying lives; that, however, does not mean that YOU need to value every person. There are people that I certainly don’t value in any way, shape, or form, but I am happy that they DO have people in their lives that value them.

You won’t value a relationship that you claim to know that the god you claim to know exists disapproves, and even though I will oppose you on that, I respect your right to assert your beliefs; I will not, however, support or respect attempts to turn the US into a Christian theocracy, or claims that it should rightfully be one.

Similarly, I won’t value a religious faith that indoctrinates children into its ranks, shames and demonizes people on the basis of an ancient book, and uses proven, failed techniques to try to “protect children” from the “scourge of homosexuality.” However, just as your disapproval of homosexuality does not constitute discrimination, my disapproval of far-right forms of Christianity does not constitute infringements on your religious freedoms.

There is a fundamental divide that we will never bridge, I suspect.

  • tomd

Oh wait. This is about sports – adults chasing an inflated object around a field. Tell me again why some special day for any group is a problem when the basic activity is really not that critical.

    Bill needs a new hobby.

Why do you hang out on a Christian web site? You obviously don’t like us. Just as obviously you don’t believe in Christianity. So what’s the point of hanging out here…unless you have a not-so-hidden agenda as a Troll.

    What is “footy”?

    • thisoldspouse

      Australian rules football.

    • Progressive Patriot

Actually, footy is a generic term for both Aussie football and football (soccer) in general used throughout the Commonwealth. It does not exclusively apply to Australian rules football. The term can be heard throughout the Midlands in the UK as well as other remnants of the Empire.

      • thisoldspouse

The gehs want to make it “fisty.”

  • Kevin Moses

Ah, once again the myth of Christian persecution. Just fyi, no one is getting special rights or privileges here. The reason that the team is specifically speaking to gay fans is that they are the only group that historically and currently is made to feel unwelcome. It is the same reason there is a Black History Month in the US. As society changes its mind about a group, the larger society tries to make up for its mistake by actively encouraging participation of the oppressed minority. In no way, shape, or form are Christians harmed by something like this. Its good to see that people prattle on about all the “terrible” things that are done to Christians in other countries besides the US, nice to know we aren’t the only country with people that actually buy into this ridiculous myth.

    • thisoldspouse

Just to go on record, we should never have established “Black History Month.” It just reinforces the racial divide that has most recently become almost unbearable.

If you are not an American – JUST an American – you do not deserve America.

      • Kevin Moses

No one is “Just an American”. We all have cultures and backgrounds we come from and its good to celebrate those differences and learn from each other. That being said, America typically tries to claim the dominant culture as the default culture. So students in school learn history and are inundated with stories of powerful, white men throughout world and American history. I wouldn’t argue that those men aren’t important, but far too often the stories of the rest of the people on the planet are ignored. Once people realize that there has been a bias towards one group at the expense of others, there is a need to highlight and encourage development of an understanding of the marginalized group.

    So much hate, wow….
It’s never war, racism, etc, no… It’s always the gays.

  • Stephen

Perhaps they should rename the ‘Poo – Bombers’, for men(?) who like poo.
