Silence isn’t as polite as you may think.
Many Christians sit by silently when issues like homosexuality and the re-definition of marriage are discussed. They “don’t want to offend.” But is silence the Christian and the polite response?
Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us Guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer stood against the National Socialist party in Germany. He was killed in a concentration camp as a result of his stand.
Before he died, he also said: “Being a Christian is less about cautiously avoiding sin than about courageously and actively doing God’s will.”
