Planned Parenthood’s Brood of Vipers

Planned Parenthood’s Brood of Vipers

“Brood of vipers!” Those weren’t just Jesus’ words to the Pharisees in Matthew 23:33, they were also the first words that came to mind when I read the “Pastoral Letter to Patients” penned by Planned Parenthood’s “Clergy Advocacy Board.” Wow. It just has to anger you and break your heart at the same time to see the effort put out by these self-proclaimed “religious leaders” to deceive women.

These sorts of “clerics” are the ones about which Jesus warned us. They come in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15). “[H]ypocrites!” was the charge of Jesus against them, “For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence” (Matthew 23:25). That is exactly right.

Again Jesus: “Woe to you … hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones,” (Matthew 23:27). How appropriate is that? Dead, unborn babies’ bones in this case. I tell you, I suspect most women can see right through their false rhetoric, but if these clerics are successful in deceiving some women, that woman’s error and the life blood of her unborn little one is on the hands of these “clerics”, not only the woman’s. It is why Jesus said, “It would be better for [them] if a millstone were hung around [their] neck[s], and were drowned in the depth of the sea,” than to “cause one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin” (Matthew 18:6). And that is exactly what they are doing — encouraging sin.

“The decision to have an abortion is personal,” they write. Well, of course it is. Does anyone say differently? But that is not the issue, is it? The decision to cheat on my wife is also personal. I can do it or not. My wife doesn’t even have to know about it. The question is, is it against God’s will? “Many people wrongly assume that all religious leaders disapprove of abortion,” the letter continues. Talk about self-indulgence. Who cares of what “religious leaders” approve? We care about what God, the Maker of the Universe and the One who “formed [our] inward parts” and “knitted [us] together in [our] mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13) thinks.

“The truth is that abortion is not even mentioned in the Scriptures – Jewish or Christian,” they write. The snakes! Murder is mentioned. The question is does abortion fit the bill? We must define when life begins, and that is the one question they avoid like the plague.

But that’s what women want to know. Is what I am about to do okay with God? Am I taking the life of my baby? The best these clerics can do is say, “We don’t know because the word ‘abortion’ is not in the Bible.” But even if that is what they truly believed, what do you think would be the most logical approach? If they had any decency, they would be very hesitant to promote abortion. For that is exactly what they are doing by teaming up with Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the country.

“We support you in your decision” or “the decision is yours” does not even begin to deal with the ramifications of the emotional distress these women feel. Yet they just want to encourage them to have peace in ending the life of their unborn child without dealing with the fundamental, commonsense questions we all have. “Don’t think about it” seems to be the overarching theme of their message. “Our hope is for peace in your heart,” they say.

Cowards! How can they have peace if they don’t know what they are doing? You offer no answers. Thus, you offer no peace. You simply affirm their decision to abort their children.

If these religious leaders really didn’t think a baby in the womb is a life that would be one thing, but they know better than that. Remember, these clerics are advocates for Planned Parenthood, an organization that promotes abortion up until the baby is completely outside the womb and perhaps even beyond.

Take a look at these clips if you have any doubts of that: 1-where they are not sure what to do with a child already born after a botched abortion and 2- where Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards says she believes life begins when the children are born. Not to mention their horrible history, through Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Sanger, a documented believer in eugenics. That’s who these clerics are standing to support. Not distressed women. They could help women in crisis pregnancies through many other avenues. But through Planned Parenthood?

That’s why they don’t even have the dignity to sign their names to the letter. They only sign it “The Clergy Advocacy Board, Planned Parenthood Federation of America.” That actually gives me a bit of hope that they might feel a bit of shame deep inside for participating in such a heinous effort. But I’ll do what they won’t. I’ll give you their names, as found on the Planned Parenthood site. They will not continue to operate in the shadows as far as I’m concerned. The letter rightly extols God’s unconditional love for women, whatever their decision; in fact, it is the only redeemable thing in this letter. That’s why so many Christian, pro-life efforts are concentrated on post-abortive women who continue to suffer the consequences of their abortion for years after Planned Parenthood has taken their money and sent them on their broken way. But to use God’s unconditional love as a support for sin is shameful.

Unfortunately, this is nothing new. Paul addressed it in Romans 6:1, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” If these ministers have opened their Bibles, then they know that. But again, it is all a deception, a smoke screen, and a poor bit of theological sleight of hand. The fact that God loves us still does not answer the fundamental questions involved in the issue of abortion. They just want women to feel good about their decision and forget about the consequences of their actions — consequences that they will inevitably face, one way or another. Painful consequences.

This is about more than a mere theological or scientific disagreement. These “clerics” end their letter by saying, “If you’d like to speak with_a (sic) clergyperson, your local Planned Parenthood health center can refer you to someone who will be supportive of you and your decision.” How evil is that? They don’t say consult your minister. No. God forbid, he might have a different view and be “unsupportive” of their decision. He might even discourage an abortion, even while supporting her completely (which is what all good Christian ministers should do).

No, these “clerics” want women to know they can call them — and others like them — through Planned Parenthood. At the end of the day, it’s not about truth; it’s about control disguised as compassion, served up by the only god these “clerics” know — the one they see in the mirror every morning.

The priesthood of Eli is alive and well. Pleasing the people, accolades from the masses, bigger and better salaries and bigger portions of the tithe. The system is alive and well with Eli at the helm. Those who have ears to hear and eyes to see do so. Planned parenthood is in alliance with baal and our nation has the blood debt of 50 million + to atone for.

Amos 1:13 – Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

2 Kings 8:12 – And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.

Deuteronomy 27:25 – Cursed [be] he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Isaiah 49:1 – Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
No clergy could possibly deny God’s will that an unborn baby is already considered life in God’s eyes therefore murder is the only logical answer of what is happening. Mothers can receive forgiveness and redemption when they deal with the sinfulness of their actions before God, by bringing their great burden to Christ and asking to be forgiven.

Margaret Sanger, the racist bigot who founded the Planned Parenthood would be proud of PP and its clergy. She wanted abortion to eradicate the “undesirables” which included African-Americans (“..but don’t tell their leaders!…”), Asians, and Hispanics (whoever was not Caucasian). As Dr. Alveda King, neice of MLK Jr., has said in speeches, interviews, and her writings, of the “genocide” of African-American babies, with over 1/3 of all abortions today performed on African-American women. It is so heartwarming to see African-American pastors on the “Clergy Advocacy Board” since we already know so many of them are similar to their white counter-parts, “whited sepulcher’s fill of dead men’s bones!”

What they sow, surely shall the reap. Since they sowed in murder, deceived and deceiving others, they will reap, some in this life, and all in judgment to come.

    • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

Setting aside your misrepresentation of Sanger’s politics… how would taking away black women’s rights over the use of her own bodies be better for them?

  • boaz12

This group is just another “Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice” knockoff. We have seen their “clergy” during our annual Good Friday Prayer Vigil in St. Paul, “blessing” Planned Parenthood.

This the new initiative by the abortion industry to put a smiley face on a bloody and destructive business. They lost the moral argument way back in Exodus 20:13 so they must default to “everybody’s doing it”. This typified by Planned Parenthood’s “1 in 3″ campaign, “women’s health”, “war against women” and Emily Lett’s You Tube of her abortion (if it was really an abortion procedure at all) where she states, “it wasn’t scary—and that there is such a thing as a positive abortion story.”

So the spin is on and sadly clergy are being recruited to rally the troops. Shouldn’t they be guarding the sheepfold and not letting the wolf in?

  • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life.

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life. — Exodus 21:22-23

The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old.

And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. — Leviticus 27:6

Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons.

Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. — Numbers 3:15-16

God sometimes approves of killing fetuses.

And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? … Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. — Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. — Hosea 9:14

Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. — Hosea 9:16

Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. — Hosea 13:16

God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents.

Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. — 2 Samuel 12:14

God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives.

The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell. And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. …
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. — Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28

God’s law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women.

Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. — Genesis 38:24

Do you really believe that (thanks to skepticsannotatedbible) has credibility? That is the source, you indicate. It’s like saying lefty revisionist history is credible!

What YOU write is totally BLASPHEMOUS!

I personally do not believe God should have ANY mercy on your soul for such vile Scripture twisting for EVIL. Abortion is EVIL in the EYES OF the Judeo Christian GOD!

      Let’s go through the verses:

      Exodus 21:22-23

[22] If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

[23] And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

Having an abortion is intentional. It is not an “accident”. The use of the word “mischief” fits with abortion and the punishment is DEATH.

Notice also how Jesus reacted to a child harmed:

      Matt. 18:6

[6] But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

      Capital punishment!

      Mark 9:42

[42] And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

      Capital punishment!

      Luke 17:2

[2] It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Next you refer to Leviticus 27: 6 to try and justify ABORTIONS!!!

Lev. 6 has NOTHING to do with ABORTION. This is about
REGULATIONS for VOW OFFERINGS for the Jews to God. Simply put a vow offering is a promise to worship God with a certain amount of OFFERING in the FUTURE. The reason for the delay was that for some
reason the offerer was not able to make the OFFERING. The VOW was a promise to offer God something till making the offering was possible.
The Rabbis used these “gifts” to maintain the Temple. It was also a form of tithe to honor God. Again this had NOTHING TO DO WITH ABORTIONS. How BLASPHEMOUS of you to even suggest it.

“Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons.”

That is NOT what Lev. 27: 6 is saying. God VALUES each and all of us.

More CONTEXT of what you are PERVERTING!

      Lev: 26:1-7

[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular VOW, the persons shall be for the LORD by thy estimation.

[3] And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

[4] And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.

[5] And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

[6] And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver.

[7] And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

[8] But if he be poorer than thy estimation, then he
      shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him;
according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him.

TO BE CONTINUED. I WILL NOT STAND FOR YOUR BLASPHEMY!

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“Do you really believe that (thanks to skepticsannotatedbible) has credibility? That is the source, you indicate. It’s like saying lefty revisionist history is credible!”

—’OMG BIAS!’ is not a reasonable rebuttal.

“What YOU write is totally BLASPHEMOUS!”

—That’s irrelevant; the verses make it very clear that fetuses, infants, and even children are not universally valued by this god of yours. In addition, he remains a fictional character, and a nasty psycho at that… why would it matter if I blasphemed, or if it did… why shouldn’t EVERYONE do so?

“I personally do not believe God should have ANY mercy on your soul for such vile Scripture twisting for EVIL. Abortion is EVIL in the EYES OF the Judeo Christian GOD!”

—Watch that “judeo-” prefix: Jews do not like it when you think of their faith as some sort of preface to your religion.

“Having an abortion is intentional. It is not an “accident”. The use of the word “mischief” fits with abortion and the punishment is DEATH.”

—You’re scrambled here. “Mischief” in this case refers to HER injury or death due to the trauma-induced miscarriage. A dead fetus illicits an ajudicated fine… a hurt/dead woman demands an eye-for-eye capital response.

“Lev. 6 has NOTHING to do with ABORTION. This is about
REGULATIONS for VOW OFFERINGS for the Jews to God. Simply put a vow offering is a promise to worship God with a certain amount of OFFERING in the FUTURE. The reason for the delay was that for some
reason the offerer was not able to make the OFFERING.”

—No… the delay of a month was due to the VERY high rates of fetal death in an iron-age society; most traditional cultures do not name children for quite a while after birth for that very reason. Note too that female children are LESS valued in the text… your faith stinks from the misogynist rot that exudes from its center.

“TO BE CONTINUED. I WILL NOT STAND FOR YOUR BLASPHEMY!”

—Tough luck, fool… I will ‘blaspheme’ however I wish.

        Pathetic cultist.

Again you TOTALLY take verses out of CONTEXT to try to justify abortion. THAT is not at ALL what Numbers 3:15-16 is about.

“Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. — Numbers 3:15-16”

As the book states it is a NUMBER. This particular verse, Numbers 3:15-16 was nothing more than a CENSUS COUNT. Those less than a month old were valuable too but not included in the census. What you
are clearly ignoring is that infant mortality rates were high. This could have been through disease or sickness.

      CONTEXT:

Here is another book you take TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT!

      Numbers 3: 14-16 [14]
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

[15] Number the children of Levi after the house of
their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

[16] And Moses numbered them according to the word of
the LORD, as he was commanded.

No where does this imply that any human being LESS than ONE MONTH OLD IS NOT A HUMAN BEING or should be murdered through ABORTION!! It’s simply a CENSUS COUNT!

The book of Numbers draws its name from the CENSUS made of God’s chosen people. It was a first step towards their organization of a government and future tasks. Surely a human being LESS than one month old would hardly be fit to serve in their MILITARY! In Numbers chapter 26, men in the second CENSUS was taken and it was determined that men had to be at least 20 to serve in the military.

In short, the first CENSUS was organized by family bloodlines and the second CENSUS was for organization and tasks.

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“Those less than a month old were valuable too but not included in the census. What you
are clearly ignoring is that infant mortality rates were high. This could have been through disease or sickness.”

—As such, they were NOT valued as FULL persons; you are making MY point FOR me here.

“No where does this imply that any human being LESS than ONE MONTH OLD IS NOT A HUMAN BEING or should be murdered through ABORTION!! It’s simply a CENSUS COUNT!”

—As specifically mandated by this God… which did not include newborns, as they were not counted as people. You also seem to be overlooking the rather common practice of infanticide by many such cultures, particularly during famine or war, when those offspring were doomed anyways… not to mention various types of birth control used by ancient peoples.

        Failed again, you have.

    • felix1999

      There you go again!

Grasping a straws and Scripture twisting to desperately justify
abortion! It simply isn’t so. Your source, skeptics annotated is not
representative of what passages and verses mean.

      You say:

“God sometimes approves of killing fetuses.

And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? … Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. — Numbers 31:15-17

(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)”

That’s pretty lame …. Children and virgins were NOT murdered. God loves babies. God took His VENGENCE on those that deserved it. MAKING UP things doesn’t make God and ABORTION LOVER! GEESH!

WOW! Again more taking verses OUT OF CONTEXT

      In Numbers 31:15-17

The Midianites were EVIL people so God asked the Israelites to
take out HIS VENGENCE on them and then camp on the plains of Moab. The wages
of sin is DEATH. In other books in the
Bible God makes it clear He had GIVEN UP on these people and wanted those who
had “lain with a male” destroyed but those that had NOT and their children
saved. That is God’s prerogative. I certainly would NOT view that as PRO
ABORTION RHETORIC. God was JUDGING the
Midianites. Perhaps He want the “pure”
(virgins and children) to be absorbed
into His family?. Maybe that was His way of showing mercy? I have no doubt that God KNOWS who is who out
there. He sees into their hearts. He is not arbitrary, however from that I
would NEVER EVER see any of this as promoting ABORTION or murdering babies!

Maybe you will understand WHY a CENSUS was also taken. They are TOLD how MANY to send.

From the FIRST CENSUS a thousand from EACH TRIBE!

From the SECOND CENSUS that age was determined for MEN. Women were NOT used for combat positions.

Due to the CENSUS they could fairly determine HOW MANY would be
      sent.

      Numbers 31:1-12

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Avenge the people of Israel
on the Midianites. Afterward you shall be gathered to your
people.” 3 So Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for the
war, that they may go against Midian to execute the Lord’s vengeance on Midian. 4 You shall send a thousand from each of the tribes of Israel to the
war.”5 So there were provided, out of the thousands of Israel, a
thousand from each tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand from each tribe, together
with Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, with the vessels of the sanctuary
and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand. 7 They warred against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses, and killed every male. 8 They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba,
the five kings of Midian. And they also killed Balaam the son of Beor
with the sword. 9 And the people of Israel TOOK CAPTIVE the WOMEN OF MIDIAN and their LITTLE
ONES, and they took as plunder all their
cattle, their flocks, and all their goods. 10 All their cities in the places where they lived, and all their encampments,
they burned with fire, 11 and took all the spoil and all the plunder, both of man and of beast. 12 Then they brought the captives and the plunder and the spoil to Moses,
and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the people of Israel, at the camp on the plains of Moab by the Jordan
      at Jericho.

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? … Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. — Numbers 31:15-17

(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)”

That’s pretty lame …. Children and virgins were NOT murdered.”

—That is what the verses both say and imply. These lines are textbook ethic cleansing, btw.

“The Midianites were EVIL people so God asked the Israelites to
take out HIS VENGENCE on them and then camp on the plains of Moab. The wages
        of sin is DEATH.”

—Funny, that’s what ALL genocidal maniacs say about their victims of mass-murder to rationalize their crimes. Well… not that funny.

        “In other books in the

had “lain with a male” destroyed but those that had NOT and their children
        saved. That is God’s prerogative.”

—First, the male children were sent to their deaths… just like how Serbian death squads operated in many parts of Bosnia in their 90′s conflicts. Second… what makes this god an authority at all? That is YOUR claim that YOU need to prove.

        “Perhaps He want the “pure”
(virgins and children) to be absorbed
        into His family?”

—You are one revolting brown-shirt, aren’t you? As vicious as you are a fool.

    • felix1999

This is getting tiresome. I wouldn’t even put you in the category of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. This is very blatant anti-Christian views being used to justify abortion. The more you write, the more you indicate how you don’t understand God’s word.

Let’s look at the next Scripture twist from your
      SKEPTICS ANNOTATED BIBLE:

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying
womb and dry breasts. — Hosea 9:14

Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay
even the beloved fruit of their womb. — Hosea 9:16

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Israelites have been disobedient. JUDGEMENT is about to occur by their enemies. Yes God will use ENEMIES to punish His
people. The prophet, Hosea is PRAYING to
God, for the lesser of two evils. The
prophet, Hosea, is foreseeing the butchery and destruction of his people. His heart aches for them. They had refused to
listen to him – repent and turn around. Their sins were so many that the decree
had come down from God for their destruction.
God has His limits ….on what He will tolerate and for how long.

The two evils as Hosea saw it are:

      1. Have their enemy being used by God, murdered and butcher before the eyes of their parents

      2. Rather have the women miscarry or if born dry breast instead of being butchered in front of their parents.

Hosea accepted they needed to be punished by wanted mercy on the
punishment. It was not a question of whether they did or did not deserve punishment – that had already been determined that they deserved punishment.

AGAIN, this has NOTHING TO DO WITH PROMOTING ABORTION! NOTHING!

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“The Israelites have been disobedient. JUDGEMENT is about to occur by their enemies. Yes God will use ENEMIES to punish His

        people.”

—What indicates that he’s justified in his horrid treatment of them, which specifically includes babies that are NOT said to be heaven-bound? Why does this revolting monster deserve obedience at all?

    • felix1999

You seem to be confused on PUNISHMENT and the CONTEXT of the
      passage.

“Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. — Hosea 13:16”

Are you beginning to see a PATTERN? Again, they disobeyed God! God is exacting PUNISHMENT on them. Those babies will be with Him in heaven – not so for the ADULTS!

You may not understand this but there is nothing more painful than a deceased baby. A terrible ending for the baby makes it all the more painful to bear. In short God is REALLY ANGRY! Still He has NOT given up on the Jews, a remnant is saved!

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“Are you beginning to see a PATTERN? Again, they disobeyed God! God is exacting PUNISHMENT on them.”

—And this is a valid moral rationalization… how?

“Those babies will be with Him in heaven”

—According to what? Not the text mentioned… indeed, ancient Israelites did not have a notion of a discrete heaven at all.

“You may not understand this but there is nothing more painful than a deceased baby.”

—How about the Holocaust? I’d say genocide is pretty painful… oh wait, you and your god LIKE those sorts of things, right?…

“Still He has NOT given up on the Jews, a remnant is saved!””

        —… Apparently so!

    • felix1999

God rejects SIN! God is holy and RIGHTEOUS. In this case it was the coveting, murder of her husband and a baby produced from the affair. This is AGAINST the Ten Commandments and David KNEW that but he let his EMOTIONS get the better of him.

You also need to understand that GOD is not the One sinning. It is PEOPLE! So He will PUNISH them. Yet you appear to blame God. God ALLOWS CHOICES. Christians are not ROBOTS. We make CHOICES and there are CONSEQUENCES as well as forgiveness offered.

You are also NOT understanding that there are people that LOVE BABIES! TO have a BABY DIE is a tragedy to them. It is a deep sorrow. In no way shape or form is God promoting ABORTION or others to arbitrarily kill babies.

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

      You say:

“God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents.

Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. — 2 Samuel 12:14”

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

SIN ALWAYS has CONSEQUENCES! Forgiveness is readily available but
there will be consequences. King David sinned. He took another man’s wife, Bathsheba, had an affair with her and she became pregnant. King David had her husband set up to be killed in battle. Nathan, a prophet, gave King David a parable that described his actions and asked for his opinion. Naturally King David was outraged about the “lamb” parable. Then Nathan pointed out it was about HIM. The consequence was the death of the baby he has with Bathsheba.

      2 Samuel 12:13 – 15

[13] And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

[14] Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

[15] And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD
struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.

Notice what happens next! This is a great passage that gives COMFORT to those that have babies that have died – they go to HEAVEN:

[19] But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.

[20] Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD,
and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.

[21] Then said his servants unto him, What thing is
this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was ALIVE; but when the child was DEAD, thou didst rise and eat bread.

[22] And he said, While the child was yet alive, I
fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

[23] But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

        “God rejects SIN!”

—Then why did he make it?

        “God is holy and RIGHTEOUS.”

—Not if he commits and/or orders genocide, allows for slavery, demands absolute obedience or threatens eternal torture, etc.

“You also need to understand that GOD is not the One sinning. It is PEOPLE! So He will PUNISH them. Yet you appear to blame God.”

—He is the one doing/ordering the slaughtering, is he not?

“God ALLOWS CHOICES. Christians are not ROBOTS. We make CHOICES and there are CONSEQUENCES as well as forgiveness offered.”

—What establishes him as a moral authority and/or lawful sovereign? I don’t recall electing him, do you?

“You are also NOT understanding that there are people that LOVE BABIES!”

        —Screw em.

“In no way shape or form is God promoting ABORTION or others to arbitrarily kill babies.”

—No… he’s SYSTEMATICALLY wiping them out, as per how ethnic cleansing and genocide is defined.

“SIN ALWAYS has CONSEQUENCES! Forgiveness is readily available but…”

—What need have we of forgiveness from this god? What we do on this planet is between ourselves, not this alien THING you foolishly call ‘lord’.

    • felix1999

      Here we go again!

You truly seem to have an aversion to PUNISHMENT! Again this is NOT talking about ABORTIONS! It is talking about SIN! This has nothing to do with an abortion!

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
      You say:

“God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives.

The priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy
thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell.

      +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Numbers 5:21 describes what a Priest may do if the woman is suspected of adultery. To fully understand this and not cut corners, I suggest you look it up in the Talmud. There is no Biblical evidence that this ritual was ever carried our or acknowledged anywhere else in the Bible. If you see it elsewhere, do respond with chapter and verse. I will look into the
      context.

The result was to be determined by the water. If the woman was unharmed by the bitter water, then she was innocent of the accusation and the male would also be free of blame. (Numbers 5:26). God does not
accept sin. There is ALWAYS a consequence IF you are part of HIS family. There are also times when God will GIVE UP on a person … He sees their HEART and knows …..

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“You truly seem to have an aversion to PUNISHMENT!”

—When it is unjustified, why shouldn’t anyone?

        “It is talking about SIN!”

—Which is meaningless, just like that fraud you call the Resurrection.

    • felix1999

You really shouldn’t be thanking the annotated SKEPTIC BIBLE!

It is doing you a severe spiritual dis-service.

      Here we go AGAIN!

Oh brother … another problem that you have …..is truly NOT understanding the Bible and the order of books. You are confusing Man’s “punishment” with God’s punishment. The two are NOT the same.

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

      You say:

“God’s law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women.

Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the
harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said,
Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. — Genesis 38:24

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Do you understand that Genesis was BEFORE the Ten Commandments
of God from the book of Exodus, were given to the people? DO you understand WHY the Ten Commandments were given to the people? They really didn’t know what was RIGHT or WRONG. The Ten Commandments cleared that up.

The book of Genesis is BEFORE Exodus when the Ten Commandments
were handed down to the people by Moses. The people were BRUTAL! Read the Bible for a change!

Moses applied these rules that you mention; not God! God’s rules were cast in stone and last forever. Man’s words are worthless and crumbling.
So when the disciples asked Jesus how to be closer to God, His reply
was, you KNOW the COMMANDMENTS, follow them.
Thou shalt not murder is a sin!

What changed for Christians is that Jesus PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS! Belief is required in Him. He is always EAGER to forgive sin but He is no fool. A “serial sinner” won’t be taken seriously ….
A sincere repentant sinner will be taken seriously and change their ways.

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“You are confusing Man’s “punishment” with God’s punishment. The two are NOT the same.”

—That’s true: Man’s punishments may be legitimate or not depending upon the conditions/circumstances… whereas your god’s punishments are patently illegitimate, as it stems from inhuman force.

“DO you understand WHY the Ten Commandments were given to the people? They really didn’t know what was RIGHT or WRONG. The Ten Commandments cleared that up.”

—Plenty of people’s throughout the globe have had moral systems since before books of the bible were penned.

        “The people were BRUTAL! ”

—And that didn’t appear to change for the better after this god’s interventions… indeed, it got FAR worse.

“God’s rules were cast in stone and last forever. Man’s words are worthless and crumbling.”

—Well, people CLAIM those are these god’s rules, but no one has shown that to actually be the case… nor has anyone has shown that they are worth half a damn even if they were.

“Thou shalt not murder is a sin!”

—Then abortions are not murders, as fetuses are neither proper people, and could possibly even be considered a sanctioned killing on those terms.

“What changed for Christians is that Jesus PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS! ”

—We do not sin, nor do we require forgiveness for anything regarding this god and his dubious authority.

“A sincere repentant sinner will be taken seriously and change their ways.”

—Your god has neither been shown to be real, authoritative, or deserving of anything but our contempt. You are a dangerous fool who deserves even less respect than that.

    • felix1999

I patiently went through EACH verse you stated trying to imply that God doesn’t see literally dismembering a baby as wrong – via abortion. CLEARLY abortion is WRONG! It’s OBVIOUS.

How are babies treated in the Bible from the CHRISTIAN viewpoint? I will highlight only a few verses about hos God sees babies and others in the Bible.

At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the BABE leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the CHILD you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the BABE
IN MY WOMB LEAPED FOR JOY. (NIV, Luke 1:39-44)

Yes, BABIES do HEAR things. The translation is proper when translated to “babe”. God doesn’t use other terms.

Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (NAS, Jeremiah 1:4-5)

Yes, GOD knows all of us as little human being BEFORE we are born and know what His plan is for us. We have the CHOICE of REJECTING His plan or accepting it.

In Job 3:16: Or as an hidden birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.”

Job I properly translated as an INFANT – not an “embryo” or a “fetus”. Unborn children are referred to as an INFANT

Sometimes this verse below is used to indicate a baby is a NOT a living human being! Wrong!

The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being (NIV, Genesis 2:7)

It is the creation on mankind! Adam and Eve didn’t start out as babies! God created us as special and spiritually aware beings.

David said in Psalm 51:5, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin
did my mother conceive me.” He did not say that a fetus was shapen
in iniquity and conceived in iniquity. David, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said that HE was conceived. David, not a blob of tissue, was conceived.

Who was in the womb? David! A literal and living person. The Bible never uses anything less than human terms to describe the unborn

The same is the case in Psalm 139:13-16:

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my
mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”

Notice that in Jeremiah 1:5 we are told that God KNEW Jeremiah:”Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

To further confirm the fact that God views the unborn child as a person, consider Exodus 21:22-23:

“If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,”

If the woman has a premature birth and the child lives (“no mischief follows”), then there’s no death penalty. However, if the child dies (or the woman dies) God says the death penalty applies: “thou shalt give life for life.” Why would God require the death penalty if He didn’t consider the unborn child to be a human being?

I will say to God: … “Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again? (NIV, Job 10:2, 8-9)

Science also declares that an unborn child is just as much an independent human being as you. The original human cell consists of 46 chromosomes, 23 from each parent. At no point during pregnancy does the mother contribute any new cells to the child. The original cell divides itself and multiplies to provide development and growth for the child. Scientifically speaking, the child is just as independent at six months before birth as he will be six months after birth. Yes, the mother
does provide nourishment to the unborn child, but she also provides nourishment to the newborn child!

      At two weeks
pregnancy, the “fetus” can move alone. By four weeks the child has
limbs, muscle tissue, a heart and heartbeat. Ears, eyes, and small hands are visible by the fifth week. The child responds to touch sensations by the sixth or seventh week. At eight weeks, the baby sometimes tries to take a breath when removed from the mother. At twelve weeks, the child will often struggle for life two or three hours when removed from the mother.

Proverbs 6:16-17 says that God HATES those who shed innocent blood!

Deuteronomy 27:25 says, “Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.”

Who could possibly be more innocent than an unborn baby?! Yet, our society has become so wicked that it condones the slaying of 1.5 million innocent children every year. The Bible says that God HATES people who do this.

Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

Babies are not a “curse”. They are a REWARD even if their conception as not ideal. ALL little human beings have value. None should EVER be ripped a part limb by limb simply because they are “inconvenient”.

I can’t tell the difference between the product of a rape and one conceived in love and neither can you by looking at a human being. Both are human beings. Both have the RIGHT TO
LIFE! I have yet to meet a product of a rape or incest wish they had been ripped apart at birth and left to die.

      • Phillip Lightweis-Goff

“I patiently went through EACH verse you stated trying to imply that God doesn’t see literally dismembering a baby as wrong – via abortion.”

—That wasn’t my claim. It’s clear in the text that this god doesn’t value ALL fetuses… just those born to people he favors in general, or fetuses he has specific plans for. Indeed, he and his followers) speak and act like any demented ethic-cleansing dictator and his ‘chosen’ people. In short, he is no source for ANYTHING remotely resembling ‘right’… so why should we care what he thinks at all?

“We have the CHOICE of REJECTING His plan or accepting it.”

—Being that we are posited as being under duress… there is not meaningful choice here.

“It is the creation on mankind! Adam and Eve didn’t start out as babies! God created us as special and spiritually aware beings.”

        —How quaint… and stupid.

“Who was in the womb? David! A literal and living person. The Bible never uses anything less than human terms to describe the unborn”

—Except when it does, as the verses and reasoning I provided show.
        1:22-23:

“If the woman has a premature birth and the child lives (“no mischief follows”), then there’s no death penalty. However, if the child dies (or the woman dies) God says the death penalty applies: “thou shalt give life for life.” Why would God require the death penalty if He didn’t consider the unborn child to be a human being?”

—Again, you are scrambling the meaning of the verse. There was no such thing as ‘premature birth’ in ancient Judea: trauma such as this would have inevitably caused a miscarriage, the ‘fruit departing’ meaning fetal ejection and death. Such trauma also had a high chance of killing the woman outright… that would be the ‘mischief’ in question.

“Science also declares that an unborn child is just as much an independent human being as you. The original human cell consists of 46 chromosomes, 23 from each parent.”

—Meaning that a fetus is an amalgam of both parents’ DNA… a physical derivation that is in no way ‘unique’.

“At no point during pregnancy does the mother contribute any new cells to the child.”

—Oh no… just ALL of the physical material that makes up the fetus’s growth, all from her body; you really do despise women, don’t you?

“The original cell divides itself and multiplies to provide development and growth for the child. Scientifically speaking, the child is just as independent at six months before birth as he will be six months after birth.”

—This is idiotic… there is no meaningful equivalence between a parasitic lump that owes it’s entire life-support on it’s host, and a baby breathing air, eating food, and existing physically apart from the woman… who can hand over responsibility for care to another.

“By four weeks the child has
limbs, muscle tissue, a heart and heartbeat. Ears, eyes, and small hands are visible by the fifth week. The child responds to touch sensations by the sixth or seventh week. At eight weeks, the baby sometimes tries to take a breath when removed from the mother. At twelve weeks, the child will often struggle for life two or three hours when removed from the mother.”

—Your fetus fetishism is getting tiring.

“Who could possibly be more innocent than an unborn baby?!”

—Anyone born: being socially unaware and unconnected, a fetus has no moral status whatsoever… it can neither be innocent nor guilty.

“Yet, our society has become so wicked that it condones the slaying of 1.5 million innocent children every year.”

—This is nearly double the actual # of abortions performed; for pity’s sake, get some ACTUAL facts!

“Babies are not a “curse”. They are a REWARD even if their conception as not ideal.”

—Many women would rather an unplanned child not ruin their and their families lives. Your god can take this ‘reward’ back and shove it up his derriere.

“I can’t tell the difference between the product of a rape and one conceived in love and neither can you by looking at a human being.”

—Nope… that’s why you need to look at THE WOMAN in this case: one is choosing bring a fetus to term in a consensual relationship, the other was FORCED to have sex… and you would FORCE her to bear an unwanted child.

Seriously, you are one disgusting piece of work… much like your revolting god.
