Children and Our Porn Culture

avatar

If some evil schemers got together to discuss how they might bring down a culture, and especially destroy an entire generation of young people, I think I might have an idea for them. Actually the plan is not new to me – it seems to have been in place for some time now.

The sexualization of a culture is a surefire way to demolish it, and is a great way to ruin the lives of our children. The usual protections for our children which a sane society would normally have in place are all but gone today. Indeed, our Western cultures are now deliberately targeting our children, pushing on them all things sexual.

The porn culture has gone mainstream, and hyped-up sexuality is now everywhere to be found. It of course features ubiquitously in popular culture, be it the legion of tarty pop stars or everyday advertising. And graphic sex ed courses being forced upon children at the youngest of ages is also not helping matters much.

One cannot flee our sex-obsessed society, and we are all suffering as a result – but most notably our children. Yet our ruling elites and eggheads insist there is nothing amiss here. They are living in denial, refusing to believe the evidence staring them in the face.

As social commentator Mary Eberstadt once put it, “The similarities between today’s intellectual denials of the costs of the sexual revolution and yesterday’s intellectual denials of the costs of communism are striking.” And they are denying the dangers of all this often for the simple reason that they are up to their ears in it.

The ones most strongly defending the porn culture are usually the ones who are most heavily involved in it. And countless people of course profit financially from the porn industry, so of course they have vested interests, and of course they are going to deny any harmful effects of their product.

The porn industry is a multi-billion dollar a year industry, and whenever people can get rich from something, they will defend it to the death. And death is exactly what we are seeing as the result of all this. The death of innocence, the death of wonder, the death of imagination, the death of shame, the death of marriage and family, and the death of love and romance are all parts of the bitter fruit of the sexual revolution.

And sexual crime and abuse of all sorts is also an outcome of the porn tsunami. Consider one recent case about how children are being victimized by all this. This story from north Wales is a real shocker – but is hardly unrepresentative unfortunately:

The crown prosecutor in the trial of a young boy accused of raping a male classmate in the washroom of their Colwyn Bay school told the jury at Mold Crown Court that the defendant viewed online pornography and was “acting out” scenes he had seen.

Prosecutor Karl Scholz said it was “frankly troubling” to find allegations “of crime of this level against someone so young,” according to a Telegraph report. “It is almost certain that in this case, what was being done was to act out what had been seen in pornographic material,” Scholz said in opening remarks at the trial, which began April 22.

He said the jury may conclude that what lay behind the alleged incident was the availability of pornography on the internet. “It is that which may lie behind the corruption of the minds of the people involved in this case,” Scholz said.

The court heard that the defendant, 10 years old at the time of the alleged incident in 2012, approached a fellow pupil during an English class and asked if he wanted to have sex with him. “It was an unusual question for a 10-year-old boy to ask another,” Scholz said.

Thinking he was joking, the other boy replied, “No way.” But after the lesson the alleged victim said he went to the washroom and, as he was about to leave, he claimed the defendant came in, pushed him over a sink, and raped him. The complainant said he told the other boy to stop, to which the defendant allegedly replied, “Oh come on, the party’s just starting.”

As I mentioned, I wish this were just a one-off. But it is not. Such scenes are becoming more and more common. One Australian child expert has recently released a report on just how bad the situation is:

A leading child protection expert has warned of a rise in the number of young children sexually abusing their peers in preschool and primary schools across Australia. Professor Freda Briggs of the University of South Australia has told the ABC that children as young as five are displaying problem sexualized behavior.

She says while international research shows it is happening more often, there have been no attempts to measure rates in Australia. Professor Briggs has recently written a report about the phenomenon for Taylor and Francis Online, which publishes scholarly journals and books.

“Children of say six are sexually abusing children of five, and usually it is about replicating either what’s happened to them as abused victims or that they’ve seen too much pornography and (they’re) trying to do what they’ve seen the grown-ups do,” she said.

The article continues:

Professor Briggs is currently advising parents at an Adelaide school, where a group of six-year-old boys have been forcing five-year-olds to perform oral sex on them. One of the mothers, who wished to remain anonymous, told the ABC: “My son told me other boys in kindy were kissing penises and they were asking him to do it too.

“They asked him, ‘do you want to play Star Wars?,’ and then they made him do it. I went to the principal and she said, ‘we don’t believe you, we don’t believe it’s happened at school.'” A Sydney mother, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, told the ABC her eight-year-old was recently sexually abused by another eight-year-old boy in the school toilets. Typically schools have ignored it and dismissed it as normal sexual curiosity when it isn’t.

Yet our social elites and self-appointed sexperts tell us nothing is wrong here, porn is OK, and it is good to expose young children to all things sexual. They could not be more wrong and they have a lot to answer for. As Mark Steyn, wrote in his important book, After America:

“The wreckage is impressive. The Sexual Revolution was well-named: it was a revolt not just against sexual norms but against the institutions and values they supported; it was part of an assault against any alternatives to government, civic or moral. Utopianism, writes the philosopher Roger Scruton, is ‘not in the business of perfecting the world’ but only of demolishing it: ‘The ideal is constructed in order to destroy the actual.’ Who needs families, or marriage, or morality? Who needs nations, especially nations with borders? We’ll take a jackhammer to the foundations of functioning society and proclaim paradise in the ruins.”

Some 2000 years ago Jesus was even more blunt when he warned about such matters. As is recorded in Mark 9:42: “If anyone causes one of these little ones – those who believe in me – to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.”

Hating Jesus: The American Left's War on Christianity

Matt Barber with Paul Hair

The secular left doesn’t merely have a disagreement with Christianity. These are not people with whom one may reason, compromise or even disagree. They are dedicated to evil. They demand nothing less than the abolition of the biblical worldview, and the destruction of Christ’s followers right along with it.

Now is the time to fight back. If you are someone, Christian or not, who refuses to see Christianity wiped out (like it ever could be) and your children indoctrinated into pure evil, then sitting on the sidelines is no longer an option.
