BREAKING: Trey Gowdy to Chair Select Committee on Benghazi
Ever since the tragic Benghazi terror attack occurred, there have been repeated calls for Speaker of the House John Boehner to appoint a Select Committee to investigate, but the speaker has resisted those calls — until now.
After a smoking gun email obtained by Judicial Watch revealed a White House cover-up of the fact that Benghazi was a terrorist attack and not the result of an obscure YouTube video, Boehner is now expected to announce a Special Committee to investigate Benghazi. Boehner is supposed to make the announcement sometime this afternoon.
According to FOX News, South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy will chair that Select Committee. Gowdy, a former prosecutor, is scheduled to appear with FOX News’ Greta van Susteren On the Record tonight at 7 pm ET.
The Weekly Standard was the first to report on the possibility of a Select Committee earlier this morning.
